A warm welcome awaited our group. The hotel had that nice feel being family run and not corporate. Beautifully set facing the bay with a nice pool and bar area. Our rom was upgraded at no cahrge and had wine left for us as they were aware this was part of our honeymoon trip. A nice touch. Food was very... More

The Arniston has everything right. Location - check - right on the beach and you can catch an amazing sunrise over the Indian Ocean. Ameneties - check, and do take up the free bicycles to ride your way over the dunes to the cave. A decent hotel - check, we're vegetarians, and the menu had a place for us too.... More

Fantastic new room on the second floor, all rooms have been refurbished recently, mine was a room just opened and it was large with a beautiful view. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, however the wine by the glass was not special, I did try them all!!

I stayed for 2 nights recently in a seaview facing unit and loved it. There was nothing the room lacked. I loved the sherry carafe, which was filled up at turn down service, the complimentary 500ml water offerings in the mini fridge, the excellent plunger coffee available, the tatsy biscuits, the size of the room was enormous, the linen was... During a tour of the Garden Route, we stayed at this hotel. Arniston is a lovely quiet seaside town. The beaches are intersesting with lots of shells. The hotel room was good and the floors were heated which was comforting since it was cold outside. We had local fish for dinner and it was excellent. Breakfast was good as well... More

Stayed at this wonderful seaside hotel 22-25 October while attending a conference at the nearby military complex. Room 111 was near the stairwell and elevator and our room had a great ocean view. The room was quite large with a king size bed and a sitting room. The bathroom had a soaking tub and large shower. The room included coffee... More

The Arniston was an East Indiaman ship that was wrecked on 30 May 1815 during a storm at Waenhuiskrans, near Cape Agulhas, South Africa with the loss of 372 lives- only six on board survived. Hence the name Arniston Hotel The Hotel is comfortable the decor is modern and somewhat clinical. My room had an excellent view with complimentary sherry... More

We would like share our experience: Upon check in on our wedding night - there was no body to assist with luggage or to show us our room. They sent an car guard to our room to bring our bags up. What a shock we had this guy with no uniform sent to our room. That image already placed a... More

While first impressions appear deceptive, this hotel was the highlight of the tour. The sea view bedrooms were large, airy, clean and well decorated with biscuits and a decanter of sherry to greet you. What could be nicer than sitting on your balcony, overlooking the sea with Southern Right whales swimming across the bay or basking off the beach in... More

We did not stay at the hotel but dined in their restaurant. The food, vegetable soup ( vegatables most likely put in the blender and not very tasty) main course " Sea food platter at R530 for 2) we were told before we ordered that there was no crayfish but we would get a few extra prawns , the price...
