The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean & the bed very comfortable. Superb range of Scottish malts & good local real ales. The free WI-FI was not great but as well as can be expected in a Spey-side valley. Very good breakfast. But now the important bit..... Last time I ate here the... More

Stayed in Craigellochie and unless you drive there are to options for eating in the evening. One is in the Craigellochie Hotel and the other the Highlander inn across the road. Both menus very similar and fairly limited for a Saturday night occasion. We chose Highlander and were a little disappointed. Staff friendly knowledgeable and attentive but food ( apart... More

My friend and I stayed here for one night during a trip around Speyside. We were greeted promptly and made to feel welcome stright away. Our room was across the road in a line of terraced houses. We had the run of the place. We had the bedroom, a bathroom and living room all for £83! Dinner in the bar... More

We stayed here for one night (based on my wife's previous experience) and I wish we had had more time. Unfortunately we travelled during the distilleries stand-down period, but still thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The room was spacious and quiet with a great breakfast in the morning. We had dinner at their restaurant and had some of the best... More

Not having been here for a while ,decided to try a quick supper. The decor is still tired and in need of renewal. Barman needed a shave and to either wear his tie properly or remove it. But a new menu, no more Highlander Chicken,or Fish n Chips etc. A choice of about 6 meals per course and apparently a... More

Stayed at the Highlander last Friday & Saturday night. Room excellent, breakfast very good. On the first evening I had the Haggis starter, fully recommended by me . Second night I asked for the haggis starter to be developed into a Haggis full blown meal. Nothing was to much trouble, my stay was really good. Loved it

Such a lovely place - wonderful service - people went out of their way to help with luggage and directions. A huge array of whiskies and a lovely dinner (I had a double serve of haggis). The room was fairly large and clean with wonderful heating and a beautiful view. And the breakfast service was friendly (including the dog!) -... More

We stay at the Highlander 2 or 3 times a year - in July, usually. This time we were there - in October - with other family members who were as pleased with the experience as we always are. The staff are welcoming & friendly. The menu which now changes daily offers something for everyone. The rooms are clean and... More

We stayed here in a group of 9 while walking the Speyside Way. We stayed for a night then moved on to Dufftown and returned again for a nights accommodation. The rooms are of a good standard and comfortable with en-suite facilities. Some of our group stayed in an attached cottage and they said it was delightful. On our first... More

This is a fabulous place to go for dinner and the Scotch Whiskey selection is an added plus :). I had the trout (fresh caught) and the Chef made a few adjustments to the preparation as I cannot do dairy - . My wife had the salmon and mentioned it was one of the best filets she had ever tasted... More
