We stayed here for a night while walking the Speyside Way. The hotel is right by the Way. It's a typical hotel for this type of area. Everything looks a little dated but you have everything you need. Staff were all very helpful, rooms clean - ours was 'compact'. TV quality and choice of channels very good. Wifi throughout. Great... More

The Highlander Inn's building is charming, and it is nice to have a restaurant/whiskey bar on site. It does make for a unique setting. If you stay there, opt for one of the 4 upstairs rooms if at all possible. While there will be some noise there, you are a little bit removed from the main noise (and you can... More

Last week, when walking the Speyside Way with a friend, we were glad to arrive at the Highlander Inn since my friend had hurt her knees whilst walking. I have to say if you meet a crisis on the Speyside Way, the Highlander Inn is without doubt the best place to "land." Not only is it a lovely, homely place... More

The Highlander is a wonderful place - great accommodation - comfortable & modern, yet classic style. The food was delicious - both dinner & Scottish breakfast. The bar is WELL stocked & reasonably priced. No need to leave - except to visit a distillery!

Just changed hands and day to day control rests with a Japanese master of whiskey. He will soon turn this business round as it needed freshening up. New menu includes pie of the day and those I ate were very good. Not sure the menu will appeal to all ,it is rather short but i hope for great things. Staff... More

Three of staying so we booked one of the cottages opposite the hotel itself. When we arrived we were checked in by one of the very friendly staff behind the bar. Fair to say the cottage itself is a bit dated, however clean and fairly comfortable throughout, and the one we were in included a front room, as well as... More

Reserved two rooms for my colleague and myself and we were given the adjacent house. They opened two rooms on the top floor. I know rooms and bathrooms are smaller in Europe but this was the first time I slept in a converted attic. I felt like Harry Potter but it was not a cupboard. It was not fun carrying... More

My husband and I stayed two nights and I will agree with other reviews that the rooms need some updating. Our room was very clean but dated. We had two breakfasts and suppers there and the meals were excellent. We were greeted warmly and my husband made some new friends. My only big problem was that on our last night... More

Wasn't going to review this on trip advisor as they tried to make amends, but this might make them up their game. People were really helpful, but often just bar staff or anyone left to deal with things, an alarm going for 1/2 hour at 6 in morning and no one there to do anything about it. 2 mornings running.... A friendly hotel well located for visiting the many distilleries on Speyside. Our room was clean although slightly past it's best. We ate breakfast and an evening meal in the hotel and both were good value and of good quality. The whisky bar is a must for whisky enthusiasts with an unbelievable range of whiskies for sale.
