Stayed here last weekend while attending a family wedding at the hotel. The staff were amazing, nothing was to much trouble to them. Food was outstanding, well served and beautifully presented. Bar staff very knowledgeable about the whiskies :-) and they needed to be with so many. Rooms lovely, housekeeping excellent. All in all, a wonderful hotel, can't wait to... More

I've been meaning to write a review of this fantastic hotel for while! My (now fiance) and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Got an upgrade when we got there to a beautiful room with four poster bed and gorgeous views, breakfast was delicious and dinner in the Copper Dog was outstanding. Staff were... More

I have eaten here a couple of times in the last month. Portions are of a good size, service ok, quality of food ingredients good, selection on the menu was quite poor for a hotel of this standard. Best to visit on a quiet night the staff seem to struggle to cope when busy, my colleague was advised that if... More

This charming hotel was recently remodeled and is now privately owned. The interior is beautifully appointed and the staff are most agreeable and accommodating. You feel like you are in your own home. The restaurant Copper Dog takes you back in time with its stone walls and fireplaces. The ambiance is a wonderful setting for delicious food. Breakfasts that come... More

the only 'negative ' was hauling my bags up to reception... after that everything was perfect ( and i am a demanding consumer) The room was tastefully decorated, the heated towel racks worked well, and there was a great chair for lounging and reading. the whiskey bar is unique , with a lovely decorated sterling silver band on the bar(... We had a lovely pgraded room, but a beautiful view as the roadway was hidden behind trees on the other side of a large field. 4 poster bed, lovely amenities and the rest of the hotel was great also. The bar was warm and welcoming and a HUGE selection of whiskies. The sitting room and library were nice places to... More

We booked at the last minute for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. Our room had a lovely view and the whole house flowed with style, comfort and ease. We didn't have dinner but the restaurant was very busy with empty plates and satisfied looking people. The whisky bar is more like a whisky library, organised alphabetically, overseen... More

I booked this hotel six months in advance and three days before my arrival, they canceled my reservation in the height of the busy season (mid-June) saying they were still doing maintenance on our room. Surely, they had to know the work wouldn't be completed before that. They booked me at another hotel nearby which was totally unacceptable and way... More

Accommdation here was very convenient and also expensive. There didn’t appear to be a lot of other options in town and if you have paid for an expensive fishing opportunity then you probably don’t mind the cost.No view of the river as suggested on the website although its an easy walk.Furniture is a mixture of classy and clunky and the hotel... Our room looked over the road at the back of the hotel and the traffic noise was horrendous. Same menu 2 nights running with no specials change, 2 main courses on our second night were inedible, did get this taken off my bill. Two mains arrived 5 minutes before the other two mains arrived at the table so had to... More
