we stayed here because we were walking part of the speyside way, the location was good for this. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. the hotel is a bit dated but was cosy and comfortable, only downside was we wanted to eat in the bar not the restuarant but were told we didnt need to book a table,... The craigellachie hotel is a classic Victorian building, the rooms are lovely, it is in a beautiful location the dining & drawing rooms are elegant it has what was once one of the most encyclopedic whisky bars anywhere. Sadly this beautiful jewel of Speyside is being let down by mismanagement and a lack of care. The whisky bar is staffed... More

Booking was a painful process that took a number of emails and phone calls, so perhaps that should have been an indication of what was to come. As you enter the hotel there is an unattended reception counter, about 8 ft behind the counter is a human being behind a desk. It was nearly 2 days before we realised this... More

Thank you for your comments although I am trully surprised that you did not bring any of your concerns to our attention during your stay given how strongly you obviously feel. I was personally on duty for 2 of the evenings you stayed us. Should you wish to contact me directly I would be happy to address your concerns. More

I stayed here for one night on a recent trip to the area. The room I was allocated was spacious, well furnished and clean. I had a good view from my room and all the facilities I needed were provided for including free speedy wifi. Breakfast however was a frustrating experience. The food itself was good enough but the service... More

stayed here for a couple of nights. service in the bar(s) is really slow, to the point of boredom. the staff were new and they did not seem to understand how to use the tills, how to put purchases on the room or to do anything quickly. they were friendly and polite, but to be honest, we would have expected... We returned to the Craigellachie hotel to take advantage of the lovely setting and from our past experiences the wonderfull food, general comfort anmd service. We learned from a welcome letter in our rooms that the hotel had retained it's award from the AA for the tenth year! The hotel is no longer part of Oxford Hotel group- but a... More

Thank you for your review. We do, on occasion, find ourselves under pressure at breakfast service but always try to look after our guests. Unfortunately we do not sell anywhere near enough draft beer (funnily enough with our whisky selection) to put Guinness onto draft. If we did it would be a very substandard pint as it would be sitting... More

My girlfriend and I came here for two nights to celebrate my 30th birthday. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and a great location for visiting distilleries. The hotel is full of Scottish Highland charm, some people would say that it has quite a dated interior, but this added to the experience for us. Ive stayed in plenty of... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights at Easter and sadly did not enjoy the expereience. it is a tired old building with tired old furniture, an excuse for a "library" and one of the worst barmen on the planet. Thids guy could not pour a pint of beer, had no charisma whatsoever, and was lazy to the bone.... More

Great room, super friendly staff. Good food for lunch in the restaurant. Great breakfast with both hot and cold options. GREAT GREAT selection in the whiskey bar. The shower was the best shower I have ever used at a hotel EVER. A perfect hotel for our trip up to the Speyside region to visit some distilleries.
