We have stayed at the cottages at Kingston Estate many times before, but this was our first visit since the new owners have taken over. Good to report that the cottages have received some attention and Walnut Cottage was looking fresh with its new paintwork and furnishings. The usual cream tea awaited our arrival and this was appreciated after our... More

Left this beautiful place this morning after a truly amazing time away! Stayed in the sumptuous 'Blue Suite' with a huge four poster bed with beautiful blue drapes around. the room had four large sash windows with light pouring in and views of the perfect gardens. A beautiful paneled bathroom en-suite with roll top bath. In evening we were escorted... More

Just returned from a four night break. We were very impressed with the old stables cottage. Very comfortable. Central heating and log burner kept us nice and warm. Devon cream tea on our arrival most welcome. The peace and tranquility after a long drive was wonderful. The small leisure centre was an added bonus.

We received a warm welcome from Mrs Caulfield for our stay at Bass Court - as did our 2 house cats! The adults enjoyed a welcome of fresh scones, jam and cream and the cats were welcomed with their own bowls, food sachets, cat blanket and little balls to play with!! The cottage was very comfortable and homely and we... More

We stayed here at end of August, the welcome pack and supplies left in the cottage were wonderful, the staff were friendly BUT the cottage really needs a desperate update. There was carpet in bathroom and it was well past it. The beds weren't too uncomfortable as I have had in some places BUT they are all covered in a... More

We have just returned from a holiday in 'The Stables' self-catering cottage at the Kingston Estate. We took our two little grandchildren and they enjoyed the holiday as much as we did (despite the shocking weather). The house and grounds are beautiful and Mr. & Mrs. Corfield were excellent hosts. Dogs are welcome here and Claude the Great Dane is... More

This is a unique hotel that offers to opportunity to stay in a property faithfully restored to it's 18th century glory. We stayed in the blue room and it felt like stepping back in time (electric lights and telephone notwithstanding). Our hosts were most welcoming and made it feel as if we were guests in their home. We had diner... More

We have just returned from our second visit to Kingston House the first being eleven years ago. On both occasions we stayed in Green room located in the main house and enjoyed our stay immensely. Our hosts Elizibeth and Michael Colfield were welcoming and friendly and worked hard to make us feel like personal guests in their home. Kingston House... More

The Kingston Estate is wonderfully secluded and peaceful, surrounded by fantastic scenery. We, and our dogs, were made very welcome and had a lovely hamper to enjoy in our rented cottage. We stayed in the Old Stables which felt much bigger than the pictures portrayed and was very pleasantly situated. The cottage is well furnished and equipped. It was lovely... More
