A beautiful evening walk, drinks before a roaring log fire in a most attractive sitting room, then a wonderful four course candlelit dinner. Quirky triangular windows and flagstone floor remind us that the dining room was once a barn. Very comfortable bed and delicious cooked breakfast served at a lazy 9am at our request! Hope to be back one day.

We stayed for a long weekend & had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent. The service provided by Robert was discrete & attentive. The room was immaculate & the bathroom awesome. A problem with hot water was dealt with immediately. Our room had a flagstone floor with rugs, I would recommend slippers.

Set in the most picturesque countryside. We stayed overnight as a group of 15 and have never been made to feel more welcome, our room was immaculate and packed with character. Our evening meal was superb and the service was second to none, all served in a beautiful dining hall. We would highly recommend Old Downton Lodge to anyone.
