We have previously stayed in the Planes hotel, so this time we booked a room in their annex the Planotel where rooms are slightly bigger with balconies. Both are part of the same family business & enjoy the same facilities. Our room was lovely, dual aspect with snow covered mountain views. The lady on reception was very friendly & welcoming.... More

I can't comment on the accommodation, but we stopped here for lunch, and the restaurant is very good and well-priced. We had small meals only, but everything was such an excellent standard, an amazingly fresh salad, great omelette, and good wines.

The rooms are in dire need of redecorating. Windows do not close properly and the bathroom fittings are in bad state of repair. The lift is unreliable and gives no confidence that you'll not get stuck between floors. Does not justify the 3 chimney Logis classification. The restaurant is the saving grace with excellent food.

This is a traditional French hotel and has been run by the same family since 1895 The staff are extremely efficient and friendly and the restaurant serves delicious well presented food. It is good value for money even though the rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. In our three days we tested the 22, 33 and 45 Euro menus. All... More

We ate here with a group of friends and had high hopes bearing in mind the reputation of the chef. My first impression was not good - the place was littered with stuffed animals - including 2 bears - birds, skulls - and the room is dated and dark (the brasserie at the front is better) We all chose the... We have just spent the week-end here and very good it was too. The room wasrather quirky given is corner position but comfortable enough for the two of us. The lift took some getting used to especially stopping of the ground floor. These can be endearing to some and are to us. The hotel is centrally located, indeed impossible to... More

We spent two nights here while visiting the Eyne nature reserve. The hotel is in the very centre of the village where the main road takes a bit of a bend. Parking is across the road or on a side street but we had no problems finding a space. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the food was first... More

This hotel is 118 years old under 5th generation of same family ownership, center of a small town we'd never heard of, nicely-renovated rooms. We chose it as we often do in France because it's restaurant had a Michelin Bib Gourmand (at least in the last guide we looked at, 2010). The hotel was very good, rooms quite adequate, not... More

Hotel Planes is more famous with the locals as one of the best restaurants that serve good Catalan cuisine on the Andorra-Perpignan road. It is a must place to stop to have lunch or dinner when you are near the French border with Andorra. It specializes in cooking with duck. Not far from it, you are near a thermal-spring village...
