I needed to entertain a prospective client in the area so needs to entertain 9 people with 7 of us staying. Jane and Alan were actually closed for their own winter break but when I contacted them they very kindly opened the hotel and entertained my business colleagues with dinner and comfortable rooms for the night. My client couldn't thank... More

A real gem set in the heart of fishing and whisky country, stunning scenery and close to the quaint town of Aberlour, and only an hour to Inverness. From the minute you are greeted by Jane and Alan, see the comfy array of sofas and the beckoning fireplace, you know this is going to be a memorable stay. I had... More

A small hotel with personalized attention and service by Jane and Alan Hunter, the owners. Friendly, gracious, and helpful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Cozy lounges and fireplace for a pre- and post-prandial drink or dessert and coffee. Comfortable, nicely furnished rooms. Excellent cooking and service. Every item ordered over two dinners and two breakfasts... More

I've stayed here several times during July and August as I'm working in the local area. Jane, Alan and all the staff are very welcoming with comfortable rooms and great food in the restaurant. I would recommend staying here if you want to visit the Whiskey trail with several distilleries very close by or just for the great highland scenery.

Stayed here as a stop on the whisky trail. Room was comfy, everything fine for overnight stay tea making facilities in the room. Bistro was excellent, service and food. The owners very chatty and friendly. Breakfast was more than enough, and well done.really enjoyed our stay. Went for a stroll, not a lot to see in Archiestown itself, no bars or... More

After visiting Cardhu Distillary (worth a tour and tasting!) down the road we decided we'd stop at the next village and look for accommodation. Jane and Alan were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to us as last minute arrivals. We ate a delicious dinner in the hotel (I was slightly surprised to find such good food in a small Scottish... More

We stopped here for one night and left wishing we were staying for longer. Jane and Allen are the perfect hostesses running this Scottish inn, lovely spacious rooms, comfortable and clean. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were an epicurean delight, definitely four stars. The attentiveness and warmth of the hosts made us feel right at home. Highly... More

Most likely you're in Archiestown because you're touring Speyside distilleries or doing business. Jane and Allen run a quaint establishment in a very small Scottish town. Service is attentive and personable. The two course dinner (not included) is a high three-star and begins with cocktails in the sitting room. Breakfast is included. It's an older building so expect imperfections. Be... More

Just a darling place to stay - nice accommodations, wonderful hosts, spent several days in town touring the distilleries, went out for walks at night, went running in the morning and simply enjoyed our breakfast and dinners - just amazing meals that were both works of art and scrumptious! And, of course, we enjoyed a dram before dinner as well!

We could only stay one night but we wished we could have stayed much longer. Our hosts, Jane and Alan Hunter were so very warm and welcoming. The rooms were quiet, very comfortable, and restful after a busy day of sightseeing. What really took it over the top was our delicious dinner, from drinks and appetizers in the front room... More
