we visited on a busy sunday in the village, Luckily as we were a party of 12, we had booked and had a leisurely drink at the bar and nearby tables. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and, after going through a pretty courtyard garden, had a lovely roast with all the trimmings. Hidden delight!

Village pub offering food & accommodation. Simple room providing all that I needed. Good breakfast offerings in the morning & unpretentious but enjoyable food in the evening. A couple of well kept real ales. Very welcoming proprietors and locals. Quiet and pleasing village location, well sited for exploring the surrounding area which is rich in history and natural beauty. Excellent... More

A huge thanks to Karen and Chris for making our stay at The Sheaf of Arrows so enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, with big thick duvets, great hot shower in the en-suit bath room and a great selection of teas, coffees and biscuits to snack on while watching a late night programme. The Pub has a great range of fine... More

My husband and I had a meal here recently. We did not book but that was not a problem. The menu was limited. Very traditional pub food. No vegetarian option. One fish choice. Nicely cooked. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Used by locals and with a good atmosphere.

We heard the Sheaf of Arrows was good and we were not disappointed. Had a pub lunch of Steak and Ale pie and Macaroni Cheese and it was the best. Really good steak in the pie and the macaroni cheese was truly excellent which was served with garlic bread and a really good salad. The bar staff were very friendly... More

In so many village pubs when a stranger walks in all conversation stops. This one is different, locals and staff all say hello and in no time at all one has joined in the conversation. My husband and I have been twice recently to eat, the first time on a Saturday, which is steak night at £7.95, the second time... More

So me and a mate popped in for a pint and a meal. Happened to be 2 mains for a tenner. Gammon, egg and chips and steak and kidney pudding and chips. Great food, amazing value. Will be back with the girlfriend next week. A lot easier than cooking!

You really must try chef's macaroni cheese - served with wedges of hot garlic bread and a salad with superb tasty dressing. Mmmm - the best mac cheese ever! And, if you still have room..... the chocolate fudge pudding is to die for. Greg Wallace would approve!!!
