We arrived after cycling all day and were firstly offered somewhere to store the bikes and then shown to our rooms. On the basis this a pub (clearly a very nice one), the rooms came as an amazing surprise. Very clean, very fresh and exceedingly well equipped. Windows are double glazed as they face onto the beer garden. There is... More

Stayed here for 1 night with my husband for a stop over on our way to our destination. Room was very nice, had been tastefully decorated with a spacious bathroom. What let it down was the rather cheap tasting tea and coffee and toiletries which were not of the best quality in my opinion. We dined in the pub bar... More

I am very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us and that you found the quality of the refreshments and breakfast not to your liking. I would dare to venture a response to your comments however - The tea and coffee is actually by Miles of Porlock who are certainly not poor quality. My husband cooked... More

We stayed here once before a few years ago, and we had a great time - the food was good, the accomodation was good, and it was great for dogs. We often stop in Somerset for lunch when we are travelling down to Devon, so we were pleased that we managed to get there earlier this year, before last orders... More

We had no function in May and this review has been posted in September and has been reported as suspicious particularly as mention is made of a local competitor. More

Wife and I camped for three nights. We wanted to visit some NT properties and a couple of museums. Campsite and facilities were excellent together with food and beer in the Pub. Paula was an excellent host together with her competent staff. Well worth a visit.

We called for lunch. We had a lovely meal in really comfortable and characterful surroundings. The fish cakes were particularly good and tasty. It's a very dog friendly pub with treats at the bar and manages to blend friendly country pub with an interesting menu particularly well. The staff went out of their way to help guests whose car had... More

Good staff and good food and excellent home-brew. Very busy but efficient. Really good experience. Bedroom spacious and comfortable. Good value for money. We booked late but were given a good room and were welcomed by mine host. Only two veggie options but they were fine.

I stayed here on business last night and what a great surprise it was. The room was very modern, well appointed and comfortable with a lovely showeroom. The food in the bar was super and as previously mentioned the service was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was fresh and even the boiled eggs came from someone in the village!! All... More

Stopped over on our way to Cornwall. Lovely location, warm friendly welcome from the staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Great country village location with ample parking. Room was excellent, easily exceeding our expectations. Far better than the usual budget chains with neighbouring "restaurant" pubs. Enjoyed the in room complimentary beers ! Pub is popular and well supported. Food was excellent. No complaints... More

We stopped here for two nights on our way down to Cornwall and we are so glad that we did. We picked the Masons Arms as the website stated that they are dog friendly - and dog friendly they most certainly are. Our dog was allowed to accompany us both to dinner and breakfast which was very much appreciated as... More
