A one night stay. Pub itself very good with a decent pint also dog friendly. Room was dated with dust, cobwebs, hair on bed sheets and out of date biscuits which I didn't realise till I ate one. Breakfast was a little disappointing small portion with no beans, black pudding or fried bread. Only got a cup of tea no... More

This was a bit of a weird one, on the one hand they were friendly but you felt it was when it suited them and that you were perhaps asking a favour instead of for service. I wonder if you're local it's different. Rooms were very clean, tidy, well equipped and very comfortable. Amazing views, I think I was spoilt... More

We stayed in this Inn couple of nights while visiting friends in the area. Room was good, bed comfortable and the pub downstairs was cosy. We had made other plans ahead so we did not eat other than breakfast here. Stay was good overall but we felt the place would need bit more attention to detail to bump the rating... More

Outstanding fireworks tonight. Certainly the best display in this area and with food and an outside bar it was a great evening. A great village pub and although it was very busy the service was still excellent. Looking forward to next tears display already.

I tried several times by e-mail direct to Alma Inn and also through their booking agent Eviivo to cancel our booking. Our e-mails were never acknowledged until a few days beforehand when they came back to me as "rejected by server". a phone call to the booking agent denied all responsibility even though they had receipted the deposit. They then... More

I have been to this pub a few times now as I have just moved to the area. Every time I have had a few drinks and food and it has been brilliant every time. Lovely chilled out atmosphere with a really good selection of real ales behind the bar. The food is extremely reasonably priced and portions are very... More

We were put in this hotel as an overflow for a large family gathering in another hotel on the other side of the town. The rooms are over the pub bar so there is a lot of noise from their regular punters downstairs until closing time but it didn't last too long. The very best thing about this place for... More

First the positives: The Alma is in a lovely spot, and the view from our room was beautiful. The room was also very comfortable and clean - the bed was spot on for my taste (quite firm). The breakfast was okay, and the real ales and wine both lived up to expectations. This is definitely a pub with rooms rather... More

On arrival landlady rude and miserable. Pushing past me instead of using manners politely. Looking around the place is scruffy with bobbled seat cushions which we had to sit on with dog hair entwined in to them. Service from the two young girls were spot on. Although we were told we had to wait nearly an hour as a table... More
