Stayed here for one night after booking at very short notice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a light snack in the afternoon and dinner in the evening, all meals were excellent and very good Value. The rooms are clean and cozy and it is situated in a very peaceful location. Will certainly be back for another... More

If you are looking for a cozy pub with a nice restaurant set in possibly the best location in sowerby bridge then look no further. They have recently brought in new chefs with a new menu and new ideas. I was impressed with what I saw.

We stayed for one night as a break from a house that's currently like a building site :) Seemed like the plumbing gremlins followed us from home as there was a minor problem in the room. It didn't spoil our stay though and the landlord and landlady couldn't do enough to make our stay a good one. The bar is... More

1 hour 20 minutes for our food, and I'd only ordered a toasted sandwich. The pub is nice on a sunny day with lovely views of the valley, but I would not go back. When we asked about how long our food would be, we were rudely told there was a queue and we should wait our turn without apology... More

We arrived at the alma in the lovely weather after a lovely walk. We sat out in the beer garden and got some drinks. We went to the bar and ordered our food- to which we were greeted with unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. We were told that our order wouldn't go to the kitchen for 15 minutes as they were... More

Judging by the filthy cushions, the dog/s have the priority over paying customers. We just popped in for a drink, but I wouldn't want to eat there, no matter how delicious the pizzas look. Some call it cozy, I call it scruffy. Hair of the dog? No thanks

A one night stay. Pub itself very good with a decent pint also dog friendly. Room was dated with dust, cobwebs, hair on bed sheets and out of date biscuits which I didn't realise till I ate one. Breakfast was a little disappointing small portion with no beans, black pudding or fried bread. Only got a cup of tea no... More

This was a bit of a weird one, on the one hand they were friendly but you felt it was when it suited them and that you were perhaps asking a favour instead of for service. I wonder if you're local it's different. Rooms were very clean, tidy, well equipped and very comfortable. Amazing views, I think I was spoilt... More

We stayed in this Inn couple of nights while visiting friends in the area. Room was good, bed comfortable and the pub downstairs was cosy. We had made other plans ahead so we did not eat other than breakfast here. Stay was good overall but we felt the place would need bit more attention to detail to bump the rating... More
