Sumptuous setting, superb hosts, and unforgettable, relaxing experience. This B&B deserves an extra star for ambience, taste and refreshing style. Their outlook is serene and rather idyllic. It is nestled in the countryside, yet not far from the Auckland motor way and airport..Convenient yet peacefully quiet. Jan had baked cupcakes decorated with miniature roses, that we enjoyed with a lovely... More

Pros: Stylish and comfortable rooms Home produce for breakfast Cons: Shared bathroom with other guests No locks on guest room doors Plethora of religious artefacts throughout the 'public' areas made us uncomfortable increased by the fact that the house is built in shape of a cross

We stayed here for only one night, travelling the North Island. We would gladly have stayed longer. Having stayed in quite a number of hotels, motels and B&B's this certainly was the best! And such an excellent value for money. Jan and Graham are wonderful hosts, the rooms and bathrooms are luxurious and spotlessly clean. Jan recommended a Thai restaurant and... More

Beautiful B&B but far more. The property is newly built with lots of thought going into the rooms. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Set on a rural hill looking across a glider airport with distant views made for a beautiful sunset from the room with 2 glass walls. I would definitely go back to Punanga Lodge. The price was... Arrived at Punanga Lodge after a fraught few days and Jan made us feel so welcome. The room was gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows/ patio doors on 1 & 1/2 walls. Lovely ensuite bathroom with good quality toiletries and a king sized bed with really nice bedlinen. We ate dinner with family which wasn't at all awkward - it... More

Saw this place as a good combination of price, quality, space to get some work done, well-placed with respect my work, and relaxation. Only when I got there did I realise that this was an idyllic place with great service, massive and very comfortable rooms, space to walk and relax... drinks, food, everything you could want to relax, travel, have... My wife & I, our son and his wife and our 8 month old grandson spent one night at Punanga Lodge. The stay was excellent all around. Graham and Jan were great hosts, nice people and were fun to be with. They joined us for dinner and were always available yet knew when we needed our own time. The rooms... More

We wanted a place to stay in South Auckland to attend a family evening event without having to face an hour's drive home afterwards. Punanga Lodge met the criteria location-wise, being situated between Papakura and Drury. Looking down from the Lodge we watched the comings and goings of the gliders on the airfield, which was interesting, in the afternoon before... More

This was our first stop in New Zealand after a long international flight. It was an ideal place to unwind and relax, just peace, quiet, lovely views and Jan and Graham were excellent hosts. The lodge is beautifully decorated and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and everything was fresh and homemade. A perfect start to the holiday.... More
