My boyfriend and I were spending the bank holiday weekend in Northumberland and on the recommendation of family we thought we check this place out. Not being a great meat eater I was initially a little concerned that there was virtually nothing on the menu that I would eat, thankfully the staff then produced the veggie menu and I was... More

Over the years we have visited this place the food has never failed to please all. On this occasion. We booked and mentioned we would like bring our gad. No problem as long as we sat in the lounge. Understandable as not everyone appreciates a large dog watching them eat. The food was good service a little slow, but we... More

Nicely presented pub and friendly staff but food and service very poor. Waited an hour on a fairly quiet afternoon for a few sandwiches which when arrived were presented on stale, dry baguette. Chips and cutlery arrived 10 minutes after food was served. Smoked salmon sandwich consisted of drowned salmon pieces in a huge dollop of cream cheese. Some items... More

Stayed here the night before a friends wedding and absolutely fell in love with the pub. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent, I can honestly say I have never been served a larger steak in my life, you definitely wouldn't complain about portion size here and it was cooked to perfection. Staff we very attentive, friendly and... More

This is a lovely B & B. My husband and i were at a wedding at Brinkburn Priory and stayed at the Cook & Barker for one night plus breakfast. Our room was great, bed very comfy all clean and ready for us. We enjoyed a cheese board on the evening and breakfast the next morning. My husband had the... More

We visited this pub as we were staying at a B&B in Eshottheugh- the Golden Fleece which was very good. The pub had great food and a lot of choice, even for me being a vegetarian! Good choice of wines too. It's a great location as we were travelling to see Alnwick Castle. Good also if you're travelling further up... More

Lovely little pub & restaurant, just off the A1 south of Alnwick. We spent two nights there as a base to explore the surrounding area. Rooms was clean and comfortable, food in the restaurant was excellent, yet another place on the 'must go back there' list

We have stayed here very regularly over the past year, last night we stayed in the new Cook Suite situated above the bar. It's the first time we have stayed in the main building and not the annexe, what can I say the room is beautiful, light and airy with velux windows giving you a view right to the coast... More
