An absolute gem less than two hours from Hobart. Four couples given the Lodge all to ourselves from Friday night till Sunday midday. A special Winter package for less than $690; canapés & pre dinner drinks on Friday evening prior to a three course meal beautifully prepared & presented by chef Michael. A choice of three entrees, three mains &... More

The perfect weather helped, but we were wonderfully surprised. A superb room in the Lodge, very modern, fresh, and well-appointed. Running the bath is delightfully quirky - but all in good fun, be warned! The common lounge area with the open fire in the evening is very appealing. Meals were very good (you don't really have a choice because the... More

We recently stayed at Tarraleah Lodge for a couple of nights hoping for a nice spot to celebrate a special occasion and enjoy a short break. It exceeded all expectations. Absolutely beautiful accommodation (we stayed in the Lodge) which is meticulously maintained and faithfully restored to reflect its grand art deco past, one of oppulance with every comfort one could... This was the first time we had been to Tarraleah. What a surprise. A 1930's village tastefully restored and in impeccable condition. We stayed in the Lodge. It was absolute luxury with a magnificent bed / lounge area and a huge ensuite. A short walk to the hotel across the common past double fronted bungalows, the church [used for weddings] and... More

Tarraleah Lodge was a chance booking and it exceeded all expectations. An old Hyrdo town lovingly restored. We (two couples) stayed in one of the restored houses (No.1) which was just fantastic (and would highly recommend) with two large bedrooms, huge kitchen (with full facilities), lounge room with open wood fire and a sunroom. Great views and at night the... More

My wife and I recently spent a weekend at Tarraleah Lodge to attend a French Cooking Class. The suite in the Lodge was quite opulent and furnished in art deco fashion. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in and the bathroom was quite simply huge. The library lounge was very comfortable but the... More

What a fabulous job the owners have done to bring an old town to life. From walking around the town, taking a drive down Hydro tracks to experiencing the cafe and Hylander Arms. We had an unreal visit and dining experience. The Hylander Cows and the photo opportunities they provided was a highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend a... More

Tarraleah is a village type accommodation area with several differently priced places to rest your weary bones and a spa. The lodge is beautifully maintained and furnished in an old Victorian style. We stayed in the Carter Suite, which has a lovely king sized bed, comfortable easy chair, desk area and small patio. Hidden behind a subtle opaque glass door... More

Felt like a timewarp and was a little odd at times. Our suite (Sorell #8) was amazing, spacious, an amazing bed, and black out curtains. Our package included a beautiful 2 course dinner, and bottle of wine - we finished this in the lodge library/whiskey room. My husband joined a whiskey tasting, they have over 150 bottles in stock. Library... More

Loved everything about Tarraleah, it is such a stunning location and the village has everything you need, great accommodation. We were there during Summer but it would also be a great getaway in Winter, cosy rooms.
