Loved everything about Tarraleah, it is such a stunning location and the village has everything you need, great accommodation. We were there during Summer but it would also be a great getaway in Winter, cosy rooms.

Having driven through Tarraleah several times over the years, usually just stopping for a quick bite to eat or a coffee, it gives me a special feeling to see how this little town is now looking "loved". It is a credit to the owners, and a privilege to be able to explore in more depth this time. We wanted a... More

I booked this accommodation by looking simply at the room photos and a map - the alone cannot do The Lodge justice. After checking in, it felt like we walked back in time as we found our way through the hallways to our room. There's a sense of grandeur about the place. The room was outstanding - central heating let... More

We are not whingers and 2 days post our stay we are laughing about it but just for the record - the location is really not very nice (just an ex-hydro town), the walks are very short, not maintained and very very ordinary, the service was pretty rude and indifferent, the advertising about activities was false and the meal -... This was my second visit after a long interval. The lodge and rooms are as beautiful as ever. The public spaces are comfortable and inviting. There is a well stocked honesty bar. The property is not hosted which is not a problem. You go to the main area of Tarraleah - which is not more than a dot-on-the-map to check... More

We stayed at the Lodge for one night for our wedding anniversary and it is a very special place. The room was luxurious with the best guest compendium that we have read! The view from the Hot Tub was amazing. We enjoyed dinner at the Highlander Arms - the chef created delcious and healthy vegan meals for us. Breakfast was... More

Tarraleah is like the lost village in the Scottish musical Brigadoon -- enter it and you seem to fall off the face of the world in the most pleasant sense. It wasn't always so. The first time I fell off the earth and landed in Tarraleah was in 1981 when my bride and I broke down on our honeymoon and... More

The Lodge at Tarraleah has been beautifully decorated in a style befitting it's place in Tasmania, both physically and historically. We stayed in the Augusta Room and it had everything you could want. The furniture is seriously 'bespoke'. Heated bathroom floor as it is almost always cool to cold there, the Staff were absolutely excellent. Special Mention to Kirstie Ferguson... More

My partner and I came to Tarraleah Lodge for the weekend and it was fantastic! The room was beautifully appointed and the bathroom was clean, modern and huge! The free use of the cliff-top hot-tub was wonderful and relaxing and because we were able to book a time, we had the place to ourselves! The free breakfast was also great!... More
