OK for a night stop over but there's not much there! We stayed in one of the cabins for the night which were basic and very tired. Place is in need on a freshen up. Towels were old and ragged as were curtains and bedspreads.

As another reviewer commented, this is a hotel in a fairly remote part of the Territory. The rooms are dated, but clean. (I have not stayed in a cabin.) The water has an unusual smell, but it is perfectly safe to drink. The bar can be boisterous, but the locals are friendly. Bar prices are comparable to any establishment in... More

This little hotel was a pleasant surprise. I stayed here in May, before the campground had more than one or two campers. It was wonderfully quiet, the river was beautiful, and the boardwalk along the river was a great way to stretch your legs and take in some of the village and river views.

Looks alright at first look but as the sun goes down make sure things are locked up!! People arguing and wandering left us generally uneasy as the night wore on. Would not stay here again. Was cheap for full service but would keep driving next time.

The first four cabins we were shown were under construction and the fifth turned out to be dirty. When we asked to change the linens the employees got angry. As we did not have another possibility then spending they night there we did not have enough warm water in the morning for both of us taking a shower. If you... More

There is a bar under most of the rooms. It's the only bar for miles in both directions and all of the town drunks end up there every night. You get to listen to the lovely sounds of 80's music and couples fighting. If you are a young woman, you will be obnoxiously hit on. Best to keep driving or... More

The rooms are a good size and clean. Shower had lots of hot water. Older TV and limited channels but adequate. My only beef with the place is that they charge extra for WIFI. $5 for 256Kb service or $10 for marginally better. Best bet is to bring a smart phone and tether as you will get faster service. As... This review is for those who are accustomed to hotels in remote parts of the world - which Carmacks certainly qualifies as. The Carmacks Hotel is not a Ritz-Carlton or a Four Seasons - but it is a very good hotel providing a good basic service in remote central Yukon. the rooms are clean and quiet, the beds comfortable and... DISCLAIMER: We only had dinner at the Carmacks Hotel. We did not stay here for the night. Dinner was astoundingly VERY GOOD. My husband had a hamburger and fries, and I ordered the evening's special: an astonishing pairing of lasagne (the BEST!) and a very good small New York steak. We would definitely eat here again. Service was just excellent!... More

We stayed here on our way from whitehorse to dawson. Wrong choice. It is not worth the money. The room is old and dirty, looks like it is falling off. And it is very hot in the summer. They give you a fan but it doesn't help at all. The tap water smell rusty. It's so much better to sleep... More
