This is a dreamy fairy tale castle in the countryside about an hour from Bordeaux and St. Emilion. Of the three chateaus we stayed at during our trip to the south of France, this was the most beautiful and charming. For starters, it contains miles of beautiful silk fabrics that adorn the walls. The window treatments are stunning. The whole... more

Family with young children, returned from 4 nights at Chateau de Mirambeau. I relied on the reviews of this forum to choose this location. Thanks to the writers for their efforts. The reviews of this forum are accurate particularly the positive observations. Traffic noise by the pool is not a problem. I suppose one could argue that the absolute serenity... more

The Chateau Mirambeau wants for little. A kingly room (room #1), extraordinary grounds and public spaces, gifted and generous service, and delicious if pricey cuisine add up to a remarkable stay. I will return! more

Stayed with my wife at the Chateau for six nights. This place is truly out of a fairytale. Not too small so that the hotel feels awkward but not too big so that you feel intruded on by other guests. The standard of service is superb (staff spoke good English and were happy to endure my bad French), the food... more

We just got back from a magical stay at Chateau Mirambeau - really beautiful... in fact, it is at the top of our France R&C stays so far (we have stayed in 25 R&Cs). The staff service was impeccable, especially the manager - very friendly and helpful - he's one of the best R&C people we have met in our... more

From the moment they rush out to take your luggage up to your room to the time when they wave you goodbye it is totally relaxation, in unashamed luxury. The staff are friendly and speak reasonably good English, the whole place a riot of fabrics (including the fabric covered walls, nothing so common as wallpaper here!). Food is excellent although... more

We feel honored to have stayed in the Chateaux Mirabeau. The staff treated us like old friends and we had absolute impeccable service from start to finish. The rooms are furnished in rich fabric and beds have a lush canopy over them, we felt we were taken back to bygone times. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and... more

We booked this hotel because we wanted a few days of real relaxation. It is set in an unremarkable and small French town which does have a very good bakery where you can sit outside and have coffee and croissants which we did every day for breakfast. Evening meals would probably be harder to find there. We did try to... more

If you want to treat yourself, stay here. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but we tied it into a loop around the Bordeaux region, startin in Bordeaux, going up through Medoc, across the river to Blaye, up to Mirambeau, and down to St. Emillion. It is also great if you want to tie in Cognac, but... more

From the arrival to hotel to the very last second - it was amazing experience. Service is exceptional, property maintained to the highest standard. We loved every minute of it. Restaurant is great, surroundings are magical. We will come back there again many times over. Well done to Baglioni family. more
