The Manor is a quality establishment in a great location. Martin and the staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. The freshly cooked breakfast was very good, and the evening dining was superb. If you are stuck for something to entertain, there is a games room with both a full size snooker table along with a pool table, table tennis... More

I booked this weekend for my parents anniversary and they came home absolutely thrilled with the hotel, surroundings and service. They said the owners and staff were so very welcoming and helpful and their room was perfect with gorgeous views. (Room 2) It took them just 10 minutes to get to Keswick by car and they said the walk to... More

This was my first time visiting Ravenstone Manor but not my last! I was welcomed by the owners and their lovely staff, especially Tyne who seems able to be in five places at once. The supper I had was home-made and delicious and the breakfast is the best I've had - as well as a cooked breakfast (all ingredients locally... More

Went to this hotel on a Travel Zoo voucher. our room was pleasant enough with a "lake" view, a glimpse in the distance!. Felt we were staying in a deserted hotel on the first evening, no one in the bar ( no draught beer available) and we ate alone, the meal wasn't exactly what we ordered and not very good.... More

Great location for the walk up Skiddaw, with the path starting at the front gate. Great views from all front facing windows toward the distant lake. But getting to it costs as it's private land. They have rules at the Manor. Doesn't harm to follow them, so other comments posted about these are a bit petty. It did make me... More

Stayed for 2 nights on a Travelzoo offer and was well worth the money. We upgraded to a premium room which was large with a lovely view across to the lake and the refurbished bathroom was great. Meal on first night was very nice and very well cooked. Breakfast was great both days - quality sausage and bacon. Views are... More

We stayed at Ravenstone Manor on a trip around the Lake District and the Borders. The hotel is well situated near the Lake and has lovely views. I had a room at the top of the hotel which was very comfortable although the floorboards creaked atrociously. The bathroom was a bit tired but very adequate. The staff were friendly and... More

OK so you have to order your breakfast at the quirky Ravenstone before ten on the previous evening, but that's not impossible for most of us even if it might strike us as being a bit odd. We found it easy to put up with any amount of oddness because the entire staff, and yes, the owners themselves were just... More

Overall this was a lovely hotel, we had a lovely room, four poster bed and stunning views down to Bassenthwaite Lake. Breakfast was also delicious but when we arrived on Wednesday we were told that it was chefs night off so we'd need to go out for dinner. Thankfully there was a great restraint over the road. A limited menu... More

We got a deal from travelzoo for two nights stay there and very much enjoyed it! It is a lovely 'oldy worldy style' hotel with lots of character and via filled with antique furniture, however the rooms are more modern and even have the under floor hearing available via a thermostat on the wall, lovely bathroom and excellent views! The... More
