Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Ravenstone Manor. In the past we had visited at least once a year for several years but since our last visit some 3 years ago there has been a change of ownership and management. I have to admit we were a little apprehensive in case we were disappointed with the new... More

Stayed with my wife, son and daughter for 4 days during August 2014. Superb location overlooking fells, mountains and Bassenthwaite lake. Great atmosphere with lovely, friendly staff. The 3 rooms booked were all spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Would highly recommend room 18 - 4 poster bed, Jacuzzi bath and fine views across farmland and Bassenthwaite lake in the distance.... More

- stayed 2 nights over weekend, including Dinner - very friendly service - room with beautifull view over the lake - food: good and reasonably priced - location peacefull, north of Keswick, not in the centre of too much trouble - for pre- and after-dinner, nice room with fire place (snooker also available in another room) I consider going there... We booked at short notice so weren't sure what to expect. From first arrival to departure we received first class, friendly, and efficient attention. We did feel as if we were in a friend's home. The food was excellent and for the first time in 12 years, since being diagnosed coeliac, did not have to worry about food preparation or... More

This was our second time here - the setting is lovely, the hotel is very comfortable and the food is excellent. The breakfasts are outstanding. The staff were very friendly We'll go back soon. One complaint was the rather incomplete wine stock, but the wines we had were very acceptable.

This was our second visit to the hotel following an enjoyable stay 12 months ago. The staff were excellent, all very welcoming. I booked by telephone rather than email and this enabled me to chat to the owner and eventually sort out a better deal. It is good to have the bed breakfast and evening meal as the dinners are... Enjoyed every minute of our time at Ravenstone, the accomodations were excellent, the room spacious and well appointed, the food, both morning and event excellent, and the location very convenient for the northern Cumbria area. If there was one complaint, it was the creaking floors above from the owners or managers quarters, who apparently had to rise early to attend... More
