We love it at Armathwaire Hall Hotel. You can feel your stress levels reduce as you pull up the drive. The hotel is in a fabulous part of the Lakes and is easy to reach from the M6. The staff are attentive and caring - they are helpful, professional and polite. The service is natural and not fussy. The Spa... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in June. This was a beautiful hotel, with lovely staff. We ate in both dining rooms and preferred the more formal one, which had a beautiful view of the lake and the service was better. We both took advantage of the salt scrub treatment - the therapists were very good. The room... More

I took my wonderful mum along to treat her to a spa day. It was soooooo good!! Everyone was so nice from beginning to end. We had a fantastic massage and used all the spa facilities, especially loving the outside hot tub. There's an intercom button next to the hot tub to order drinks which are brought to you. We... Myself, my mum, sister and friend have just experienced a wonderful nights stay at this beautiful place for my mums 50th! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and took every opportunity they could to wish my mum a happy birthday. The spa is very relaxing and where we spent most of our time, the... Visited Armathwaite Hall for afternoon tea. The food and service was excellent and the views of the lake and mountains from our seats in the conservatory were beautiful in the afternon sun. Hope to return soon for an evening meal and overnight stay.

A travel zoo deal saw us at Armathwaite Hall. A lovely building with great character and not a hotel chain which is a nice change. The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. An upgrade and a birthday card for the Mrs was a really nice touch. Free roaming Alpacas with a chance to take one for... More

I decided to book an Indulgence day to ...indulge myself whilst the other half was climbing another mountain. I was looking forward to driving up to the impressive house which Armathwaite Hall is but the car park for the spa is before you get a chance to drive up to the house and it did feel a little let down.... My first visit to the Armathwaite for afternoon tea with friends who have been many times before. I had been concerned that their positive hype could not be reached..BUT IT WAS!! A large hotel backing onto Bassenthwaite Lake set in plenty of private grounds it reminded me of a Scottish hunting lodge .We were shown into the lake room for... More

I never expect the best view from the standard rooms usually made available to Travelzoo visitors so we were pleasantly surprised at being allocated a lovely room with its own small balcony from which we could see the lake (Room 170). Slightly old fashioned in the furniture and decor but in fully keeping with the room. A super kingsize bed,... More

This is an outstanding hotel with views to Bassenthwaite Lake. Set in its own grounds it is privately owned and provides peace and tranquility. There is a formal restaurant where you will need to dress appropriately and a brasserie where you can dress less formally. The latter, where we ate, provides very good food and the service was outstanding. The... More
