We bought a voucher through Travel Zoo, 1 nights Stay DBB for £159, the time was just right as it was our 22nd Wedding Anniversary coming up and thought the price was okay. The drive up to the hotel and on approach of The Hall is stunning. The blonde haired woman on reception was certainly not the welcoming type. When... More

I went to Armathwaite hall, with my siblings to surprise my mam, when we arrived we were greeted by a receptionist (Maisy) that didn't know how to be polite to guests. She spent half her time on the phone and pointing for us to go stand over towards a wall and wait for somebody to come to us. As I... More

We stayed for a couple of nights and had a lovely stay. We chose Armathwaite Hall as we wanted the option of the spa after a days sight seeing/walking. The spa was excellent - with the outdoor hot tube a lovely feature with views of the gardens, down to the lake. The main hotel building is fabulous - steeped in... More

Am recommending this to everyone. Usually if we stay in the Lakes we go walking but I was very lazy here and didn't really want to leave the Spa. It's so relaxing. People were having a glass of champagne in the hot tub outside. We got room 122 in the older side which had a balcony and side view of... More

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay at Armathwaite Hall; our room was in the main house, small but lovely, the bathroom was snug but beautifully fitted out (it looked as if it had been very recently refitted). We had a view of the park where there are sheep and alpacas - gorgeous animals. There is lots of... More

I arrived with my daughter aged 11, and we spent a night here. I was particularly looking for a hotel/spa to take my daughter to, most children under 16 are not allowed in a spa. So I was very pleased when I phoned up and was told that she would be allowed into the spa, I had read the website... More

Best spa in the area. Good, professional staff offering mainly massage services (body/face). The facilities are really great-- Laura was the best masseuse *ever*. Definitely worth a visit, as well as a nap snug under the covers in the Hush Room.

Initial reservations as main hotel entrance/reception felt a bit tired, it was pretty flawless thereafter though.. New bathrooms nice, room we had was compact Spa pool gym treatments thermal spa very good Food in lakeside restaurant excellent, breakfasts good 2 bits for improvement 1. dirty windows that needed a clean in the breakfast conservatory - which was otherwise very pleasant... We stayed here using a special offer with use of the spa, diner, bed and breakfast. The room felt a bit dated and worn and not something I would have payed full price for. On the other hand the spa with outdoor hot tub was brilliant as was the meal in the brasserie. We arrived on the later side for... More

Family wedding .. Nice location, food in restaurant nice but don't really cater for children ( no high chairs in restaurant in the evening). We had a family room with lovely views.. But we had dog hair all in the bed and pillows. We asked for it to be changed but it appeared that it was vacuumed .. Again we... More
