Nice resort. Clean, quiet and relaxing. Adult pool very peaceful. The beach was fabulous. We rented a car at the airport. Stop at walmart on the way to the hotel to pick up a styrofoam cooler, water and soda/snack. There is a lot of traffic on route 3. The food and drinks are expensive at the hotel, but so are... more

I stayed in the ocean suite of the rio mar for my honeymoon. It was super delightful. This resort gives you the feel of a classic hotel, not contemporary, and it was super classy. THE ROOM The ocean suite had a living area with a couch (turns into a bed)and lounge chair,a business area (for computer usage),and a huge bed.It has lots of floor... more

Just returned and can not say enough good things. I am a very sceptical traveler and you have my word, this is a great place. To begin with, it is not close to the airport, so I was hoping it would be worth the 45 minute (without traffic) ride. While the ride was uneventful, it was interesting. You begin to... more

We just returned from Puerto Rico (Jun 16-21, 2009). We spent 5 nights at the Rio Mar resort and we had a wonderful time. The resort was clean and beautiful. The staff was warm and friendly. We booked our trip through CheapCaribbean.com and were upgraded to an oceanfront room even though our reservation was for an ocean view room and... more

The resort was stunning and beautiful but the resturaunts and activities are priced too high! We spent 57 bucks on lunch that included 1 hamburger, 1 hotdog, 1 salad and 3 soda's. Price for a bucket of beer is 30.00 - our recommendation is to rent a car, go to the local market (there's a super Walmart close) and buy... more

The room and resort were excellent. Only problems were 1) three requests until the fridge arrived 2) Hot water disappeared a few times during our stay 3) played in the casino for over an hour and never offered a drink 4) Drinks at the pool were way over priced - $9.50 for a rum/coke. Ask for the drink of the... more

Just returned from a long weekend at the Rio Mar. I found the resort to be top notch. The staff were always very helpful and friendly, especially the restaurant staff who were friendly, funny, and very responsive. The adult pool is great ~ very relaxing and the chairs are very comfortable. The downside is that it rains and the cushions... more

My wife and I went to this hotel for our 5th year wedding anniversary. Did alot of research before hand and read all the reviews. You never really know what your going to get till you get there and my wife and I were extremely impressed with the beautiful grounds and the fantastic service of this resort. Upon arrival, I... more

Just got back from a quick 5 night vacation for my wife's 30th. A friend was the GM here, but unbeknown to me, had actually left the hotel a month ago. It made no difference, we had a great time. Our only complaint would be that the staff was indeed hit or miss at times. The beach staff was pretty... more

I and my wife went for Wyndam conference being held at this hotel from May 27 thru May 29th. We had requested for aroom with a view, but were offered a room without a view. On our insistence for a view room the manager said rooms were assigned by the conference organizers. We got hold of the organizer but the... more
