Room spacious but ridiculously hot. Hotel beside very busy noisy road so opening the window to cool the room results in a very noisy room instead. A lot of cigarette smoke come through the building into the room. Not pleasant. Reception lady was helpful and friendly. She's the only reason I rate this 2 instead of 1. Go somewhere else,... More

The Staff was super helpful and polite. The room was cleaned like clockwork everyday at 9:00. I kept the windows cracked because it became very humid in the room with the heat on but it was very comfy. I'd recommend anyone who is just coming into the area to stay here. It's very close to the town square, shopping and... More

The room we stayed in was cozy, but hot; we kept the window open all the time just to be comfortable. However, I've come to expect this of all German hotels. The building its self was kept nice and clean and the service staff was very friendly. One of the front desk attendants was a little cold, but the other... More

I stayed here with my husband while we were looking for a house to rent before we moved to the area. The room was not posh by any means. We ended having two single beds and I remember wicker furniture if i'm not mistaken. A stand alone shower only. You don't have very many choices around GK but it was... More

Whenever I am in Geilenkirchen I have stayed at the City Hotel due to its central location, its proximity to convenient train connections and its proximity to the Selfkant Kaserne. Rooms are reasonable, clean and quiet. The last time there I had to stay at the annex which is located half a block away which was also very comfortable. My... More

I stayed in their apartment building across the laneway from the main hotel. The 3 storey climb (no elevator) was less than ideal given the 40lbs of work gear i had to haul up and down each day, but the apartment itself was quite comfortable. My 'room' had a full sized kitchen and living room, a small workspace with desk... More

Helpful staff at front. Limited breakfast options. Postage stamp elevator with no resident parking. Parking avail at the train station across the tracks next to the hotel. Stayed in an attic room with large sloping ceiling which rendered most of the floorspace useless - unless you are 2 feet tall. Room was over the cafe below which permits smoking inside... More

For a small town, Geilenkirchen offers a shockingly good amount of shopping and restaurants. The room itself was very spacious for three people, and the hotel was very clean. The elevator was a tad small, however, and we had to take all of our luggage up one more flight of stairs after riding the elevator up as far as it... More

My husband and I stayed here for well over a week while waiting for a house. Couch was super uncomfortable, and the queen bed was two twins pushed together which is common for Europe. Hotel is RIGHT next to the train station which makes sleep verydifficult in the summer with no A/C.

I almost rated average but after a second thought, decided to go for above average. Because it has this great location, next to the train station and all amenities. Rooms are a bit dated but my bathroom had been updated with steam shower and all. Service was also above average. Girls at the reception desk were very helpful. Great stay... More
