As this is the only place available in Henfield to stay you don't have much choice to be honest, the rooms are very small (hot in the summer), bathrooms are tiny, air on in room didn't work. I have stayed in cleaner hotels, bar is OK, staff are friendly, just an average place really, OK to get your head down... More

On arrival we had a lovely warm welcome, first impressions were good. Taken to our double room which was very small. Ensuite wasn't that clean, only 1 set of towels for double occupancy, half used toilet roll & sanitary waste from previous guests still in the bin!! No waste bin in the room so our carrier bag of collected waste... More

Dinner with a group of friends on a cold and wet night in February. Blazing fire in the area we dined in, which made it warm and welcoming. Friendly young bar staff and waiting staff, and the new owner/manager was there too and made us feel welcome. Everything was set out for our group of 20+ and service was efficient.... More

After reading the reviews I was not expecting much but it wasn't that bad. No wow factor but it was ok. A luke warm welcome from the person on the desk, no food served at all, bar empty, no breakfast being served and £75 for bed only. Room small but ok. Clean, bed and linen ok, light needed replacing in... More

The room was lacking in any comforts and the hair dryer had the plug taken off. When we asked the reception for another they did not have anything to give us. There was no apology and no acknowledgement that this had impacted on our stay. The shower room was dirty and the floor had not been cleaned with significantly and... More

Should forget the rooms and just be a pub. Rooms filthy, stairs filthy, waitress hopeless, no way of opening tiny skylight in prison-like room, no way of changing air con temp so room was 25 degrees... tiny shower.. Terrible breakfast. Avoid it.

With proper management (see previous comments further down) this pub/restaurant could be a real winner. On the positive side, the location is perfect, with convenient off-road parking, and the room we stayed in (the Tudor Room) was bright and airy and had air conditioning. The bed was extremely comfortable and the towels fresh and new. A hairdresser was available for... More

Stayed here at the weekend for 1 night. First impressions were great, quaint little village pub/hotel but once in the room we were disappointed. The bedroom was quite small and the bathroom was extremely pokey. We were charged £75.00 room only and I feel that this is extremely over priced. I'd say the room is actually worth about £45-£50 a... On arrival at Henfield, me and my boyfriend were very excited by the rustic charm of the highstreet and the pub itself was delightful and oldy-worldy. We were informed at the desk that they would only take a cash payment and we should have been called about the matter before, which we weren't (a little embarrassing, but we were told... More
