We stayed for only a night on a driving vacation through northeast Oregon. PVL is a set of three brightly painted older homes, redone to be something between a hotel and a B&B. The owner was very friendly, and offered advice on where to eat in town, (there are only two options.) The rooms are well-maintained, well-decorated, and very clean.... More

Would love to have stayed here longer as this thoughtfully designed establishment felt like home. Excellent rooms, the best breakfast choices. Various places to sit and visit with others both inside, in comfortable homely surroundings or outside in a very pleasant garden setting. Small town with limited but adequate restaurant choices.

On an 8 day trip around central and eastern Oregon and this was the nicest overnight of all. Lovely people, wonderful room, really good breakfast. Enjoyed the B&B atmosphere with the privacy of our own space. Halfway is tiny, but this hotel and a really good restaurant down the street make it a worthwhile stop. Wish we had gotten in... More

As part of a group of 15 bike riders we spent 2 nights at the Pine Valley Lodge. What a great place to stay! The biggest problem was right after check in where everyone had to check out each of the rooms we had. Eventually we got that job finished and were able to relax and enjoy the establishment. All... Lovely place. I enjoyed the grounds as much as the interior. Would have enjoyed a longer stay. Lots of attention to detail like a flashlight in the room and older rags for cleaning shoes made the stay very comfortable. This is a great place to relax.

In a place as remote as Halfway, you would expect no more than a clean room if you're lucky, but Pine Valley Lodge was a very pleasant surprise. The building is beautifully designed by architect Dale Beatty, who happens to have his studio across the street. There are creative details everywhere you turn, so just being in the property becomes... More

You know that wistful feeling when it's time to check out from a hotel, resort, B&B, whatever -- a place that's been so relaxing and delightful that you try to push your check-out until the very last minute? That's how I felt leaving the Pine Valley Lodge. We came to backpack the southern Wallowas, and we fell in love with... More

What a unique place. The property consists of three buildings connected by boardwalks. Lots of covered outdoor space with rocking chairs and tables and chairs. Our room was the cowboy room upstairs in the main building. It had a very unique décor with a nice bath and an air conditioner that kept the place nice and cool. There was a... More

We stayed at this lodge for one night with our two children (8 & 10). We were given a charming room with two bedrooms, sitting area and bathroom. Very clean, good beds. We all slept great. Kids loved all the walkways. Needed to leave first thing in the morning. Breakfast was quick and easy, a simple continental. The staff were... More

Rustic re-purposed barnwood inside and out. Exceptional antiques and art in the main breakfast room. Creative landscaping with succulents and flower baskets. Included breakfast: Eggs, fruit, scones, Gluten free waffles, Mini studio had beautiful wood floor, fridge, coffee/tea, glasses, plates, etc. Shelli is the gracious innkeeper, $100 + 8 tax. Cons: the door hinges squeaked loudly. Yes, that's our only... More
