There is not another hotel like the Pine Valley Lodge. It is beautiful, clean, original and comfortable. The walkways and porches are a perfect addition to tie the whole complex together. Our visit was in the cool spring. But we will need to come back again when late nights on the porch are welcomed by the warm weather. We will... More

The lodge is so very nice. The staff were excellent and the rooms were well stocked, well kept, and gorgeous. The rooms have a very eclectic feel to them. I love the intricate wood work and attention to detail. The free breakfast was such a delight with Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, and other delights. Thanks so much for a great... More

We chose PVL based on other's experience and were not disappointed. Thankfully, we arrived early enough to enjoy some of the extras, such as the rocking chairs on the front porch. We only hope for an excuse to travel through Halfway again someday so that we might stay at PVL longer than just one night. We truly hated to leave.

We stayed for only a night on a driving vacation through northeast Oregon. PVL is a set of three brightly painted older homes, redone to be something between a hotel and a B&B. The owner was very friendly, and offered advice on where to eat in town, (there are only two options.) The rooms are well-maintained, well-decorated, and very clean.... More

Would love to have stayed here longer as this thoughtfully designed establishment felt like home. Excellent rooms, the best breakfast choices. Various places to sit and visit with others both inside, in comfortable homely surroundings or outside in a very pleasant garden setting. Small town with limited but adequate restaurant choices.

On an 8 day trip around central and eastern Oregon and this was the nicest overnight of all. Lovely people, wonderful room, really good breakfast. Enjoyed the B&B atmosphere with the privacy of our own space. Halfway is tiny, but this hotel and a really good restaurant down the street make it a worthwhile stop. Wish we had gotten in... More

As part of a group of 15 bike riders we spent 2 nights at the Pine Valley Lodge. What a great place to stay! The biggest problem was right after check in where everyone had to check out each of the rooms we had. Eventually we got that job finished and were able to relax and enjoy the establishment. All... Lovely place. I enjoyed the grounds as much as the interior. Would have enjoyed a longer stay. Lots of attention to detail like a flashlight in the room and older rags for cleaning shoes made the stay very comfortable. This is a great place to relax.

In a place as remote as Halfway, you would expect no more than a clean room if you're lucky, but Pine Valley Lodge was a very pleasant surprise. The building is beautifully designed by architect Dale Beatty, who happens to have his studio across the street. There are creative details everywhere you turn, so just being in the property becomes... More

You know that wistful feeling when it's time to check out from a hotel, resort, B&B, whatever -- a place that's been so relaxing and delightful that you try to push your check-out until the very last minute? That's how I felt leaving the Pine Valley Lodge. We came to backpack the southern Wallowas, and we fell in love with... More
