We stayed overnight to break up our journey from London in the hope of visiting a pretty French village, having a lovely meal and getting a good night sleep. So far so good. The Hotel is attractively presented and the check in was smooth enough. The area of Le Bec-Hellouin is dominated by an impressive and picturesque Abbey. Our early... More

The village of Le Bec-Hellouin is a sleepy, but charming hamlet based around an important abbey that was established as early as the 13th century. The village and abbey itself is worth a visit. The only accommodations in town is this small auberge that is situated on the pretty main road through town across from a nice patch of grass... More

Stayed here for an overnight stop on way home from Dordogne. Lovely little village built in the shadow of the abbey. Family run hotel with excellent restaurant. Well worth a visit.

We chose the auberge through the review with the michelin Guide. We were very pleased with our choice. Le Bec Hellouin is a very attractive small village. The hotel is in the centre and the patrons are extremely helpful and obliging. The food was very good and the wines were very reasonably priced, but on a Thursday evening the restaurant... More

Near Rouen, the Auberge de l'Abbaye is only 5 minutes from the A38 in a pretty village of historical interest (one 11th century Abbot became Archbishop of Canterbury). The rooms are adequate, to food reasonably priced, the welcome friendly and the breakfast a cur above average.

The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming. My room on the first floor looked directly out over the village green and had a huge bathroom looking out to the back. The room was not luxurious, but very comfortable for this type of hotel in an old building. It was so easy to sleep in this quiet village only to be... More

If you have dreamed of sitting outside a half timbered French Inn, in a a quiet village with a glass of wine or a beer in your hand, then this is the place to come. Bedecked in flowers, the Auberge de l'Abbaye welcomes you to the wonderful surroundings of an 18th century coaching Inn whose half-timbered façade recalls Normandy of... More
