Although our room was small it was beautifully decorated and really clean. The manager was really friendly and directed us to a superb Italian-for dinner. Breakfast in the adjoining pub was lovely and again friendly staff. Only bugbear was the heating, a little intermittent. Overall recommend this little gem.

I'm sorry but most of the reviews are for Ziggy the original owner and they should be taken down as the pub and restaurant is under new management and in no way to the same standard as Ziggy's. My experience in the bar end was very slow service and strangers feel unwelcome, I did not try the restaurant as the... More

Firstly my apologies for the late review. Well I stayed here with my brother as we were visiting the Vulcan Bomber Hangar at Doncaster Airport. I have to be honest in saying that I wasn't expecting much in a small, but actually pretty, village like Haxey, but I have to say that The Loco is really nice. The owner was... More

Chose The Loco for a stop over because it sounded so interesting. Such a surprise to find this place in Haxey which is hardly a prime destination. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. A warm welcome from Ziggy in the bar was followed by a trip up to our room and instructions on the security, tv and... More

I stayed here with my wife for a couple of nights and found the hotel to be well equipped, clean and inviting. Haxey is a good place to stay if you want to explore the surrounding area and avoid the congestion of bigger towns. The staff were very down to earth and quite happy to give advice on local attractions.... More
