Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Royal Hotel garners appreciation for its central location near Bath's attractions and the train station, although the convenience can come with some traffic noise. Guests frequently commend the hotel for its cleanliness and cozy charm, despite mixed reviews on room quality, which ranges from clean and comfortable to outdated. The staff, particularly Tim, receives accolades for their attentive service. While the amenities and value are well-regarded, concerns over parking costs and noise occasionally surface.

This hotel is a perfect choice for a well priced weekend in Bath .The staff esp Tim are lovely .Room was lovely and spacious clean and tidy .Yes its a little dated some could say ...I love that the hotel reflects the age and style of Georgian Bath ..If you want a lovely hotel at a fraction of Bath prices The Royal is for you..Central so traffic can be noisy but we loved the city vibe and so central ..There is a car park just up the road so easy ..£35 for 3 days or if you come by train its literally a few paces ..

Came with husband for a two night break to see a show at The Forum. Hadn’t been to this hotel before but will definitely be back. We arrived by train, so perfect position. A nice walk to all the attractions that Bath has to offer. Room was lovely and clean, and a comfy bed, and a hot shower. Great old building, steep stairs, but obviously a lift to use if needed. Goodness knows, the upkeep and maintenance of these old historic buildings must be immense and costly. As we were leaving, the windows were being cleaned, so you can see the effort is being put in to keep this old lady shining. We didn’t eat in the hotel as we had made other arrangements, but we did have a few drinks in the bar. As mentioned by others, the staff are delightful, so friendly, knowledgable and attentive. We will definitely come and stay again as we had a lovely few days.

Room Tip: it’s easy to access the Kennet & Avon canal from this hotel. Well worth a walk along the tow path.

We booked the two night City Break. Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was central but quiet. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, so much choice for breakfast and the evening meal.

Just got back from a lovely break in the Royal. It was my first stay there, but won't be my last. Conveniently situated opposite the railway station, it's quite an imposing building. The staff are the Royals main asset, from the moment you step through their doors, you receive a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble - customer service at its best! My friend and I, had a lovely twin room on the 3rd floor and after unpacking, settled down to our afternoon cream tea, which was part of the deal we booked with the hotel. The evening meal was of a good standard and again the service was impeccable. The main lounge is cosy, but gets really busy. There is however, another smaller lounge if you like a quieter atmosphere - basically the Royal caters for all tastes. Again, a big thank you to all the staff, for making our stay so special. We will return!

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in total -due to illness had to add nights on -member of party having to be hospitalized. The hotel itself is comfortable but needs a bit of tlc in parts - we had to move rooms due to water not been hot (had noticed this was mentioned before so obviously not fixed and its not really OK that this is still an issue - especially when the room rate on Saturday was £189.00). That aside, the reason for the five stars is the staff and especially the reception staff ( the lady in particular). I had to keep adding nights on (due to continued delayed discharge from hospital) and this was made so much easier with the staff absolutely 'going above and beyond' to ensure this was as stress free as possible. She managed to keep the parking for me too which was a godsend. I felt very comfortable here on my own - all staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back and thanks to the staff again for making a difficult time a little less stressful!!!

Stayed at the Royal with a couple of friends and got a good deal for dinner, bed and breakfast. Our dinners were delicious - good chef. Our rooms were very comfy and everything worked. The staff were all kind and helpful and seemed happy to be working there. Very handy for the theatre, shops and Roman baths.
