Points of Interest

1. Parking Area

This is a large pullout on the south side of the road, complete with bear boxes. (It's Yosemite, so PLEASE protect your vehicle and put smellables into the bear boxes when you're not around!)

The trailhead is across the road (on the north side), by the WEST end of the parking area.

2. Trailhead.

The trail disappears into the forest and is not terribly noticeable, it starts by paralleling a seasonal creek.

3. Trail Summit

This is the highest point on the hike and it's all down from here. The forest doesn't really open up, but at least you are no longer completely within the trees.

4. Lukens Meadow

This meadow south of the lake is boggy but open and full of flowers -- a sight to behold in early August when all the wildflowers are going crazy.

5. Lukens Lake

This is a nice place to stop for a snack, or you can continue around the lake for more spots (it's a bit sunnier and better ground on the northwest shore of the lake).
