1. Lava Lands Visitor Center

This is the start of the drive up Lava Butte as well. Take the time to explore the visitor center. The center has a wealth of information on the geology, climate, and general environment of the Newberry Crater National Monument area.

2. Summit of Lava Butte

Take the time to walk around the top and take plenty of photos. Explore the fire tower at the top and read all the informative signs. You are at 4,500 feet.

Follow this very short 0.75 mile loop with interpretive signs explaining the geology of the lava flow coming from Lava Butte.
