Moscow for young kids
The Obraztsov Puppet Theater features shows with fairy tale plots that children can easily understand even with the script in Russian. Theater also has collections of theater-quality puppets from all over the world.
Built by Ivan the Terrible in the 1550s, this intriguing cathedral bordering Red Square consists of nine separate chapels, each capped with its own individually shaped and colored dome.
The Moscow Children’s Musical Theatre was the first professional venue in the world where opera, ballet and symphony were performed to a young audience. Performances include Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” Kolmanovsky’s “Snow White,” and Rauhverberger’s “Cinderella.” Before each performance, actors come out dressed up in costumes and mingle and talk with the children.
Moscow Dolphinarium has shows performed by Black Sea bottlenose dolphins as well as ice whales, sea lions, walruses and fur seals, all of which do fun tricks and demonstrations.
Recently renovated, this relatively small, 100-year-old city zoo, exhibits animals from around the world.
