The beautiful garden city of India, Bangalore or "Bengaluru" as many now call it, is one of the most popular and populous cities in India. Bangalore is very metropolitan and reflects the modern side of India. English is spoken well mostly everywhere, and the city is also known throughout the country for its nightlife, food offerings, and club scene. Bangalore is definitely a city you must visit, not least for its numerous hidden gems!

Mika T's City Tips

  • When going to nightclubs, entry is usually based on couples being admitted together, so be sure to have a partner or friend with you.
  • Ensure you never drink and drive. There are a lot of police checks, especially on the weekends.
  • If you prefer to travel by taxi, then the safest way to do so is hiring one using a taxi app.
  • Be aware of your bags and wallets in the busy areas of the city.
  • For local transportation, the auto-rikshaws are nice, cheap, and also a very fast option. Always ask to use the meter, as many taxi drivers just charge what they like.
  • Gratuity is generally included in the bill at most restaurants.
  • On weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) the restaurants, clubs and bars close by 11pm, and on weekends (Friday and Saturday) they close at 1am.

    Mika T Says:

This is an iconic temple located in the north of Bangalore, and a great place to experience the religious culture of the city. The temple is dedicated to two beloved gods of India, Radha and Krishna, who were desperately in love with one other but unable to marry. Some parts of this beautiful temple are plated in gold, and everyone who visits is offered prasad (blessed holy food) before leaving.
