Appalachian Trail - Rt 501 to Rt 443

Good section for a weekend getaway.

1. AT Sign at Rt 443

This is the sign at the entrance to the parking lot at Rt 443.

You can see from the picture how many spaces were in this lot. It does get pretty full.

This is a fairly good sized shelter with upper and lower sleeping tiers.

This sign is right near the parking lot.

13. Rt 501 Shelter

This is the biggest shelter I've ever seen on the AT. It's fully enclosed and must sleep at least 20. It's possible to have pizza delivered here.

This shelter is only a few hundred feet from the parking lot, so it's real convenient to get to in the dark.
