There is The Bistro La Luna, a gourmet restaurant, The Blue Parrot, a martini and cigar bar, as well as live music most nights. • 6. My Favorite Restaurants - updated Nov. 1, 2008
    http://www.gloverrestaurant.com

Right in the middle of downtown on Gunter Avenue is The Glover Restaurant. Chef Sebastien Maris is always sure to please along with the wonderful hospitality provided by Janet Gossage. Since purchasing La Strada in 2007 and changing the name to The Glover, owners John McClendon, Janet Gossage and Sebastien Maris have completely revived the spirit of this wonderful landmark. The Sunday Brunch is one of the best around. It received rave reviews recently in The Birmingham News. The monthly wine dinners are also starting to be one of the local and area highlights to put on the "Do Not Miss This" list. Lunch at The Glover is also a great way to reconnect with friends and business acquaintances. Most lunches run around $10 or less.

Just a half block off the main street you'll find KC's Coyote Cafe. Don't let the name fool you, this restaurant has excellent food in a quiet relaxed atmosphere.

On the court house square you'll find Cake Crumbs which is great for lunch or a snack. On the ground floor of the Courthouse you will find my friend Neena Drake, who is now running the Courthouse Grill. Better get there early if you want the daily special. They run out fast! Great food whether you are in the mood for the usual Meat and 3, a sandwich or salad.

If it's a coffee shop you are looking for Percasso's is an excellent choice. They offer Gourmet coffees as well as a limited lunch menu, deserts and wireless internet service.

You'll also find the usual chain restaurants such as Applebee's, O'Charley's, Quizno's, as well as several really good Mexican and Chinese restaurants . We also have our newest restaurant, Cracker Barrel, which opens November 3, 2008.

  • 7. Cathedral Caverns

Just a few short miles outside of Guntersville you can take a walk underground and see some of the most beautiful and breath taking sights at one of Alabama's newest state parks.
