An absolutely perfect day in the Bahamas - adult style
I would start my day with a walk down the beach to the Ocean Club where I would have breakfast on the deck at Dune - Eggs Benedict like you've never had before with a tall mimosa made with Veuve Cliquot champagne.
I would change into my golf clothes and my husband and I would head to our early morning tee time at one of the most beautiful courses I've played at the Ocean Club.
I would head back to our condo at the Paradise Island Beach club to change and we would jump into our car and head out for a drive before lunch. The places we would hit before our lunch destination - Traveller's rest for a cocktail on the deck, The Last Man Standing bar up the road - where you won't find anything more authentic than the Bahamian working man sitting down for a cold Heineken, the small Conch Salad hut right on the beach where we would grab a little appetizer of fresh made Conch, the really qaint little bed and breakfast A Stone's Throw Away for yet another glass of champagne by the pool.
We would head to compass point for a mid-afternoon lunch by the ocean and take it the beautiful view of Love Beach and all of the lovely little cottages that are painted in bright Bahamian colours.
We would head to Stuart's cove after lunch - but not for the diving (after we've been drinking all that Champagne!). We go to catch some sun and some very calm ocean swimming just the other side of the South Ocean Beach Club resort (which is temporarily closed). There is a little known stretch of desserted beach there - and when the waves are big and it's windy on the other side of the island - this is the place to go. The water is shallow quite a ways out - and it's warm!
We'd head back to the Beach Club as the sun was getting ready to set so that we could enjoy the sight from the beach in front of our Condo. After a shower and a cocktail on our deck, we would head out for a late dinner in Marina Village at Cafe Martinque. We'd listen to the live jazz singer play our favorite tunes while enjoying the impeccable service and wonderful food. We'd take a stroll around Marina village afterwards to look at all of the unbelievable yachts that moor there and then see if we could win some money to pay for it all at the Casino at Atlantis. To end the day we would have a night cap at the Columbus Tavern just across the road from our condo. The open air restaurant serves fabulous seafood - and makes wonderful drinks.
