Foodies know to go to this hIgh end Thai dining from a renown chef. Go for the multi-course, chef-driven tasting menu.
Step away from the maddening crowds of the Mag Mile into this secret-gem of an art musuem. If you get nothing out of contemporary art, one stunning view of the lakeshore will make you glad you stopped in.

Boutique hotel with all the luxuries you'd want- a rooftop terrace for dining with an unbelievable selection of wine, designer digs, shops, etc. Some rooms have views of the city or lake from their bathtub!
Amazing pancakes to satisfy your sweet tooth (Oreo flapjacks, for example) and savory items such as a crab club, omeletes, etc. Go early or endure a looooong line on the weekend!
Their newish Philippine reef exhibit is worth the extra $. After the aquarium, walk around the lakeshore/musuem campus for more awesome Chicago city views.
7. Marshall Field's
Insiders know that you can top off shopping and dine in the Walnut Room (swanky!) or the 6th floor "cafeteria". Don't get me wrong- the food is top notch and a cut above the food court in the basement. Me thinks culinary students do their stints here.
Walk to the end of the pier- it's worth the effort for more stunning views.
9. Chicago Architecture Foundation
Reserve early for their river tours- another unique way to see the city.
