1. THEhotel at Mandalay Bay
Start by pampering yourself with a suite [the standard room] at this plush, sophisticated retreat. More like a Manhattan hotel than a Vegas one, but top of the line by any standard. All the casino madness is just next door at the original Mandalay Bay. Make sure to ask for something above the 10th floor and plan plenty of time to take advantage of the huge soaking tub and the 42-inch plasma TV. [$200-$300 per night on average] |
2. Bouchon at the Venetian
Head up the Strip [by cab, of course] to this top-notch bistro for expertly prepared classics. There's also a nifty pewter bar that serves Chamay in the classic bowl glass--so get your alcohol intake started here. [Cocktail and lunch around $50 per person] |
3. Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
On your way back down the Strip, pick up a bauble or two at this high-end mall. It's a tourist attraction in its own right--and that silk Tommy Bahama shirt will look great at the pool later. [Tommy Bahama silk shirt around $110] |
4. Bellagio Conservatory
After Caesars, stop by Bellagio to check out the seasonal display of flowers and sculpture. [Free!] |
5. Spa at Mandalay Bay
After getting back to the hotel, dump your packages and get the Hot Stone Treatment at the Spa at Mandalay Bay. Leave some time to sit by the plunge pools with their mosaic tiling and fish fountains. Afterwards, take a little time by the MBay pool, if you can find a seat. [Hot stone treatment around $170 with tip] |

Put on your dressy black duds and stop by for a martini at this bar/nightclub/restaurant specializing in vodka concoctions. Get there by 7 so that you can actually get a seat at the ice-topped bar. [Cocktails around $12 each] |
Have your second pre-dinner cocktail at this lounge high atop THEhotel. Step out on the open patio and check the evening lights from this terrific vantage point. [Cocktails $12-$15] |

Step next door for a dinner from a menu created by uber-chef Alain Ducasse in a room that looks like a huge champagne glass with Jetsons furniture. Hundreds of Murano glass spheres are hung throughout. The dishes are bold and flavorful, with unbelievable desserts [don't miss the baba au rhum]. Let the sommelier talk you into something outrageous. [Dinner $80-$120 per person excluding wine] |

9. Casino at Mandalay Bay
Hit one of the blackjack tables on the casino floor and play until all hours [or until your bankroll runs out]. Pick one of the tables that's near the craps area and check for celebrities. Drink Glenlivet or Grey Goose.
Stumble up to the room when you can't take any more fun--but make sure to place your room-service breakfast order before slipping between the Egyptian-cotton sheets. |
