The windy city has a lot to offer- check it out
This is the coolest park I have ever been to. Visit the crown fountain in the summer to play in the wading pool next to the 3 story water towers, or have your picture taken with "the bean".
3. Extended Stay America Chicago Elmhurst

Ave price: $78
Best hotel deal in Chicago- $39 a night when you book from Hotwire.com. Rooms include a kitchen w/ full size refrigerator & freezer, stove, oven, toaster, sink, dishes, silverware, & cabinets. Other amenities include cable TV, alarm clock w/ radio, shower & tub, comfortable beds, dining table, and lots & lots of space. It's about a mile from the Elmhurst Metra Station, which will take you into downtown Chicago- I reccomend a car, but the hotel can call a taxi for you.
The best way to get into the city from the suburbs- the weekend pass is $5, allowing you to take any train, all weekend, for just one price of 5 dollars. Visit their website before you go, to find out what time your train will come.
5. CTA Chicago El
The best way to get around downtown Chicago- trains run frequently, with service to many popular attractions. Buy a weekend pass at one of the airports if you fly in.
The view from the top is worth the wait- although when we went it wasn't bad- 1 hour from the front door to the top of the skydeck.
7. Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches
Near the Sears Tower, this hero shop has good food at an affordable price.
Navy Pier is a Chicago must visit. The virtual reality ride about losing your place in time is quite fun, and the ferris wheel is the biggest of it's kind. Definately a plus for any Chicago trip.
9. Chicago Water Taxi
Rides from Navy Pier to Shedd Aquarium in Lake Michigan.
Probably the most famous fountain in the world, the Buckingham fountain id one in the world. Near the sears tower, great place to photograph the Chicago skyline.
The "best pizza in Chicago", Giordano's is a great place to chill, eat pizza, and possibly catch the game. Serving up big slices of Chicago style deep dish pizza, you have to eat it with a fork!
12. Museum of Science and Industry
With enough to keep anyone occupied, from the smallest child to the oldest adult, this museum has everything from a real, full size Boeing 727 airplane, with simulated rides throughout the day to my personal favorite, a model of Chicago & Seattle, with 27 different electric trains running throughout the model. Accessible by Metra and CTA Bus.
