I've compiled a list of the best restaurants, beaches and things to do with kids ages 2 and up!!
We always rent a condo when we come to Waikiki - it's much cheaper than staying in a hotel. The Ilikai has two pools, is next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village (without the cost of staying there!) and has a sundry store as well.
Wonderful buffet and fast and great service. There's a 3 pce. band that plays requests. Good restaurant for kids.
This is a great place to go for children - they can see how their bodies work, how they grow and they always have a theme. When we were there in January of 2006, the theme was Clifford! They also have a gift store.
Expensive hotel, amazing buffets and at Christmas, they have a beautiful winter train display. Our son loved to watch it every time we walked by the Moana!
Make sure you make a reservation!! Good food and they usually do a good cooking show to keep everyone entertained!
I put this down because when we go to the beach, we always go to "Kahuna Dog" on the beach to buy a shave ice!!
Located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village - cute ice cream parlor with great ice cream and some tables.
This is a full day activity. They rent strollers for children - call in advance or book online. We always buy the VIP Ambassador, because I want the best while on vacation. You get your own tour guide and with a busy boy, you eat in a separate area with a server instead of the buffet. Wonderful and fun day!
Great luau evening! Our son got to throw spears, get a fake tattoo (and my husband too!) enjoyed lots of purple taro buns (along with the rest of the yummy food!) and enjoyed the show and did the hula with me! Again, I purchased the most expensive seats, because I wanted him to be able to see the performers. Fun evening!
This is an amazing and beautiful place. Beware - there is no shade, so please make sure to wear and bring lots of sunscreen. There is a food kiosk to buy burgers and delicious garlic fries and then walk down the path (steep coming up, but you can take a trolley to drive you back up to the top) to the Bay. GO EARLY!! There is always a lineup and now you have to view a movie before you are let in - for ecology reasons and to protect the reef and fish. Lots of fish - don't worry - they don't bite, but some are big - but don't worry!!
