12. SONIC
| Yes, it's a chain but in the north - NO SONIC - we love the servers on rollerskates and the old school bacon cheese burger but what makes us drive through again and again are the YUMMY fruit slushes made with real FRUIT. Try the berry lemon. You will be happy you did - oh, and the coconut shake! |

13. RUTH HUNT CANDIES

| DO NOT LEAVE LEXINGTON without trying these sinful treats = located just off Richmond Rd in an ugly pink building - sorry! These are OLD SCHOOL delights. You must try to Kentucky Pull Candy - just like Grandma used to make and the Bourbon Balls. Oh, and the Blue Monday bars and the carmels and the...just try it all! OH, official candy store of the KY Derby - how can you go wrong? YUM. |

15. PIN OAK STUD
| A working horse farm, home to Champion stallions Maria's Mon - sire of Monarchos, KY Derby winner, Broken Vow and Sky Classic - this is truly a wonderful place. BY appointment only and call WAY ahead during breeding season and Keeneland meet and sales - they treat the common folk like royalty. On our visits, we were treated to a driving/walking tour of the stallion barn, the mare/foal faciltiy and the training barn. Nancy, our host could not have been nicer nor more informative. We cheer on Pin Oak bred horses as often as we can in part to our wonderful treatment we were given. If you wish to visit a true working horse farm where the needs and welfare of the horse are truly considered, visit Pin Oak. Located off RT 60 just outside of Versailles. |
