Motril is the second largest city in the Granada Province with about 50,000 people. It is a commercial city with the main port of the province. For a tourist looking for interesting sights, Motril has little to offer, but if you live here, everything you need is available. As a summer tourist, there are plenty of clean beaches within easy reach, and Motril is a good starting point for interesting day-trips to Granada, Alpujarra, Malaga, Almeria, etc.

The Alhambra is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. Only an hours drive from Motril. Book your tickets well in advance to avoid the large queues.
