  • 1. Vail Dining
    Vail, Colorado

Vail is known for it's dining - there are a number of excellent choices!
The Vail Valley offers a variety of restaurant choices, from casual to four-star dining. Take advantage of the variety and choices and read below for my favorite tips!

    1. Visit in early December for "Dine Around Vail" - some of Vail's best restaurants offer price-fixed dinner for only $30 per person.

    2. Visit in late August for "Vail at $81.50" - some of Vail's best restaurants offer price-fixed dinner for only $81.50 for two people.

    3. Call the concierge at your condominium or hotel to book your reservations at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability - space fills for weekends all year round!

    3. Don't miss Sweet Basil, La Tour or Montauk - great food, great service and good wine lists.

    4. Want a great meal but donât feel like going out? Try A La Car in Vail, they deliver carryout from Vailâs favorite restaurants

    5. For fantastic sushi and awesome Asian cuisine at a great price, try Nozawa in West Vail

    6. The best Sunday buffet can be found at Terra Bistro

    7. Off the beaten path a bit, head to Eagle-Vail and experience Ti Amo for great Italian food at a reasonable price

    8. Attend the Taste of Vail, hosted in early April each year, for a variety of food and wine events from Vail's top restaurants and wineries from around the world

  • 2. Vail Tips
    Vail, Colorado

How to make the most of your Vail vacation and how to maximize your time in the Vail Valley!

    1. Get on the mountain at 8:30am or 9am (when the lifts open) to avoid the crowds

    2. Head to the Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin first and ski the front side of Vail Mountain in the afternoon

    3. Call your concierge to help arrange your dinner reservations, activities and lift tickets. Book these early to ensure availablity and best pricing (exclusive lift ticket deals to the lodges need to be booked 8-14 days in advance)!

    4. Call your concierge to arrange for grocery delivery to your condo prior to arrival (save yourself the time and hassle of going to the grocery store).

    5. Stay an extra day to avoid long lines at the airport and increased traffic on the roads

    6. Enjoy an early lunch (before 11am) or a late lunch (after 1pm) to avoid the crowds at the on-mountain restaurants - plus there are often discounts on select menu items at Mid-Vail or Two Elk at these times.

    7. Start your day on the Born Free Chair (chair 8) instead of the Eagle-Bahn Gondola

    8. Check both sides of the lift lines - you will typically find shorter lines on the east side of Chair 2 (Avanti), west side of Chair 7 (Game Creek) and west side of Chair 21 (Orient Express)

    9. Try a day at Beaver Creek - your lift ticket is valid at both Vail and Beaver Creek and the Beav' is only a short bus ride away

    Vail, Colorado

Read below for the best tips on how to make the most of your Vail vacation!

    1. Book your vacation early to enjoy the best discounts - check websites such as www.vail.net, www.vail.com or do a Google search for "Vail Lodging".

    2. Plan an evening at Adventure Ridge atop Vail Mountain

    3. Scenic 4 Eagle Ranch offers a wide variety of fun family activities centered around a real Western Ranch, including horseback rides, cattle round-ups and Western nights with dinner and a Wild West show

    4. Contact your concierge to set up babysitting one night and enjoy a romantic dinner

    5. Get your ski/snowboard rentals the night before you start skiing - the lines are much shorter than in the mornings

    6. Book an airport shuttle for your family and save on car rental fees

    7. Don't forget your swimsuits for the pool and/or hot tubs- kids love swimming in the middle of the winter!

    8. Purchase multiple day lift tickets for big discounts (and be sure to purchase at least 10 days prior to arrival - check vail.com or your hotel concierge)

    9. Take a ski or snowboard lesson. I cannot emphasize strongly enough what a difference this can make! Whether you want to learn a new sport, improve your skills or just want to find the stashes that only the locals know

    10. Stay in a condominium instead of a hotel - each condominium has a fully equipped kitchen to make it convenient for in-house meals (and will save you a lot of money!)
