We just returned from a 5-day trip to Sedona, with a variety of things to do.

1. Bi-plane air tour around Sedona
The rugged country looks so much different from the air! You can see more area than by car or on foot, and it's beautiful!
2. Nearby Jerome historic mining town
This
town perched on a mountain is charming, rugged and fun. It's sort of
coming awake, so it's not too commercialized yet. Worth the drive from
Sedona.
3. Climb Cathedral Rock
Yes, you can do it! Take your time and rest when you need to. The view from the top is glorious both ways, and you'll feel proud!
4. Southwest food and culture - not in Sedona
We were surprised that Sedona has little culture of its own. No southwest cuisine that we found. A few Mexican restaurants. Apparently, Sedona cuisine is steaks and burgers. Surprisingly little real-world shopping, so any new t-shirt would have "Sedona" or "Life is good" on it. I guess the locals drive to Phoenix. I'm not saying that Sedona isn't fun to visit; it's just not Santa Fe.
