  • 1. Stingray City
Sun Rays Tours, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

We took the Allura excursion to the sandbar on a large catameran. You get to feed and swim right along with the dozen or so stingrays that show up here. They range from about a foot wide to 5 feet wide and just glide through the water around you. Truly an amazing experience. Definitely worth the trip.

  • 2. Gumbalimba Park

Conservation park on Isla Roatan, Honuras. Includes snorkeling, swimming, pirates, birds and monkeys. You actually get to play with monkeys here as well as some macaws that live in the trees and cages. Very tame and playful creatures. There's a beach and snack bar in the park that you can use when your tour is finished. They also offer zipline tours through the canopy.

  • 3. Shark Ray Alley

Coral Reef snorkeling adventure off Caye Caulker, Belize. Includes moray eels, nurse sharks and stingrays.

  • 4. Majahual
    Mahahual

Small destination that is beginning to grow due to the cruise ship port at Costa Maya. Easiest to reach on your own by taxi outside the port of Costa Maya. $4 RT / person. All beaches in Mexico are public and therefore you can snorkel anywhere you'd like. Just watch out for boat traffic through the channel there. I had the fun of finding a spotted eagle ray while snorkeling out toward the breakers at the coral reef. Many small shops and some persistant sales people, but overall, well worth getting out of the port as it seems like a tourist trap.
