| Chicago offers several great museums, the Shedd is one of our best. It is the largest indoor aquarium in the world. Make sure you have time to visit the Oceanarium and Wild Reef although there is an additional charge, they are well worth the price. . The Oceanarium overlooks Lake Michigan, giving it an fabulous view and open feel. |

2. Garrett's Popcorn Shop
| Decedent Treat ! This is some of the best caramel corn you will ever have in your life ( the cheese is good too- but the caramel is the best). Don't let the lines or price put you off, its worth the time and cost. They are located at 500 W Madison and 670 N. Michigan. |

| My favorite place in the city. In the summer spend some time listening to Jazz or grab a beer and walk to the end of the pier. There are a few resturants, including Bubba Gumps, but they are generally overcrowded and not worth the wait. |

4. Avventura Water Tower Place
| Water tower place will be able to address all your shopping needs. Not being a big shopper, Water tower's high rise mall concept works well for me. The mall includes Banana Republic, Marshall Fields, Lord & Taylor plus 98 other specialty stores. Its located on Chicago's magnificent mile (northern part of Michigan Avenue) so you are just a block away from other interesting shops like: Neiman Marcus,, Niketown , Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and the Apple (computer ) store. |

5. Signature Room at the 95th
| Include a ride to the top of a Chicago Skyscraper as part of your stay, but don't head to the tourist filled observation floors. Instead, enjoy a wonderful dinner at the Signature room; located on the 95th floor in the John Hancock building, the view is spectacular. Although the city lights are beautiful at night, I prefer to be seated prior to sunset, where I can enjoy a view of Lake Michigan. Ask for a table on the south side of the restaurant, offering both lake and city views. |

| Perfect place for a walk after dinner, an evening outdoor concert or break between sight seeing. Make sure you see the Cloud Gate sculpture â aka the beanâ it is a polished sculpture that does a beautiful job reflecting the skyline. The crown fountain consists of two 50-foot glass block towers at ends of a reflecting pool. The towers project video images with faces of area residents. It is a good show and good place to sit for a while. |

| Tucked away from the activity of Michigan Avenue it a great place to stay. Request a room with a view of the lake. It is centrally located, so its a short walk to most of the places I have listed here. |
