  • 1. Spice Market
Spice Market, New York City, New York

Great place to have dinner, they describe it as street asian, it's lovely, order a real mix and share all the courses. Probably good idea to book.

  • 2. Pastis
pastis, New York City, New York

lovely wine, lovely food, great people watching bar, it all seems to be about the people watching!

  • 3. Bar Pitti
Bar Pitti, New York City, New York

I don't like to queue for food, but it was worth it, great italian, they bring you the menu on a huge chalkboard and read it all for you, lovely staff, great atmosphere, fab food.

  • 4. Da Silvano
Da Silvano, New York City, New York

Next door to Bar Pitti, also great food, lovely red wine, friendly staff and dessert looked very good, if only i'd had room for it.

  • 5. Metrazur
Metrazur, New York City, New York

Didn't actually eat here, but if your going to people watch and enjoy the great building that is Grand Central Station, you might as well do it with a beer and and from one of the balcony's overlooking the concourse.

  • 6. Nicole Farhi
Nicole's, New York City, New York

Not sure when Nicole Farhi started doing breakfast, but this strange little corner of the chelsea market where people are looking at clothes and your looking at pancakes was lovely. Great food and service.

  • 7. Magnolia Bakery
Magnolia Bakery, New York City, New York

Once we found this place (by accident) but we had heard of it... we started seeing cupcakes everywhere (chelsea market) we wouldn't have queued, but early on a saturday morning we didnt have to wait. Staff were little full of themselves, a young girl tried to take a picture of the kitchen and you'd think great secrets were stored back there - but this is all about the food and they were nice cupcakes.

  • 8. Balthazar

sister restaurant to Pastis, worth a visit, had brunch and dinner here during this trip. The interior is lovely, the atmosphere great and food lovely, had eggs benedict for breakfast and a bowl of cappuccino!

  • 9. The Dekk

came here on a sunday morning when everyone in new york seems to go for brunch, this place was strangely quiet, but the food was lovely and the staff really nice. Still not sure why it was so quiet when people were waiting over an hour around the corner, but we're glad we came here and I would recommend it to anyone in soho / tribeca who doesn't want to wait ages for their food.
