  • 1. Zoological Garden (Zoologischer Garten)
    Zoo Zurich, Zurich

dont miss the apes for heavens sake! Aspecially not the gorillas. I usually dont like seeing apes in custody, but when this male, N'Guma, looks you in the eye all you can do is shudder. He and his females makes you wonder about the difference between you and them, their gestures are so human-like. It gives you some perspective, something to think about.

  • 2. Great Church (Grossmunster)
    Grossmunster, Zurich

watching it from outside it's impressive, not beautiful though, if you ask me. The same goes for the interior. But, what you must do when visiting the church is to climb its tower, a clear day, the view is awesome.

  • 3. Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich)
Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich), Zurich

Go visit this place! I loved it. I t has something for everyone, modern art, old masters and, it's not to big. The size of the museum is perfect, to do it fully takes like half an very enjoyable day.

  • 4. Lake Zurich
    Lake Zurich, Zurich

Bring the swimsuits! both the river and the lake will tempt you to take a dip. Plus, take a ferry from Burkliplatz, Zurich, to Rapperswil across the Zurich lake. The lake is very clean and the mountains glitter at the horizon.. Rapperswil is worth a visit (if it's not heavy tourist season, then it's people EVERYWHERE) it's a cute village.

  • 5. Bahnhofstrasse
    Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich

If you're wealthy, yeah, this might be the shopping place for you. If you aren't, watch your wallet! A baguette costs 7-8 euro. At least I find it a bit pricey.. But hey! they've got H&m here too, and looking through the windows isn't all that bad. you can do your shopping in funky Niederdorf instead, that's a nice place.

  • 6. Niederdorf
    Niederdorf, Zurich

yes, Niederdorf is a cosy place. It's a street, or rather an area, with resturants and boutiques, not that expensive. It's the city old quarters, the houses are really beautiful, and dont worry, you will find it. Niederdorf is on the other side of Limmat river, opposite Bahnhofstrasse.
