I am 23 and an avid traveler. My favorite city in the world is Chicago and I want to share all the fun and interesting things I love to do when I'm there.

1. Best Western River North Chicago Downtown Hotel
Check Rates ABS:HotelCheckRates-d114604?src=GoListDetail&fromServlet=GoListDetail&Action=QC_Button
Ave price: $165
While the Best Western may not be the most luxurious hotel, it is absolutely the most practical. The greatest thing about the hotel is the fact that it has free parking. Now I wouldnt recommened visiting Chicago in a car, but if you need to have one this is the place to stay. Parking is atrocious in Chicago and this is one of the only hotels I've seen offer free and safe parking.
The rooms are big and they offer free wireless internet which was a huge bonus for me, as I have a hard time tearing myself away from my laptop.
Here is what I recommend about the Sear's Tower....don't go up top to the observatory. It's usually SWARMING with people, mostly school-aged children and they make go through this whole song and dance about taking pictures and watching an A&E movie about how it was built. Now, this may be good for a family but for someone travelling on her own it was tedious and kind of unnecessary.
This is the place to go for a view of Chicago. It's less expensive then the Sears Tower and you get to actually SEE the Sears Tower which is the more recognizable architecture anyways. I recommend going at night because it stays open till 10. You will get a beautiful view of the cityscape and there will be less people
This place can get really packed on the weekends but it is a must for any pizza fan. My boyfriend and I like to call their pizza "pizza cake" on account of it's thickness.
Come see the famous Bean of Chicago! An amazing reflective art piece shaped, well, like a bean! It's so much fun to take pictures of the artwork here and when the weather is nice its great to just walk around and people watch.
6. Ed Debevic's Short Order
This is the most relaxing museum I've ever been to. I'd recommend going mid-day on weekday to avoid crowds but it is a must see in Chicago. I go to the Field Museum all the time on my own when I'm in Chicago, its just a really nice way to spend an afternoon
8. The El Train
Take advantage of the city. It is very easy to get around Chicago without taxi's. It's one of the most walkable cities I've ever been to and the el train(subway) is quick, cheap and efficient.
