1. Leut - Restayrant
Nice restaurant very expensive. Also quite pushy in you ordering starters. I was told there black risotto was the best in the region. Black risotto is nothing special so I wouldn't recommend it.
2. Galija - Restaurant
My favourite restaurant. At the end of the town. Piano player plays really nice atmosphere. Went twice about 5 days apart and the waitress remembered us and our previous orders which was a nice touch. Steaks were good also crazy pasta was delicous but very filling.
3. Dalmacija - restaurant
Another favourite. Nice waiters, nice atmosphere. Can't remember what we had. would recommend except we had to wait a very long time to get the bill. There was only one woman who did the bill and she was wandering around collecting glasses after we had asked about 4 times for the bill. But overall quite nice.
4. Kolona
Another favourite - upstairs so if you don't like cats ideal. Mixed grill was our favourite. Steak dalmatia was very tough. Free drink at end was a nice touch.
5. toranj - Restaurant
Really nice waiter very friendly spoke 4 languages. We sat upstairs (to get away from the cats) but they do have an area on the street. food was lovely
6. konavoka- restaurant
Cavtat is nice in that there is no reps advertising there restaurants. The exception is this one and it is not worth the offer. Up an alleyway seating is cosy a bit dirty. Waitress really grumpy. First place to give cream cheese instead of fish pate as the couvert (i will explain later) and it was horrible and lumpy, Main course was nice had the pelijisac (seasoned burger) and mixed grill which was mostly mixed pork but nice.
7. konavoski dvori - restaurant
A very tourist oriented restaurant pitched as very special. Situated on a river with a mill and waitressess wear national dress. It cost us over â¬50 euro for a taxi there and back not worth it. Food was lovely especially the mixed grill was delicous as were the potatoes from under the bell. There is restaurants jst as nice nearer.
8. Pizza place
Turn right as you come out of the back door of Hotel cavtat and the second pizza place is lovely for a nice cheap meal. The cheese in breadcrumbs was delicious.
9. Ivan restaurant
Nice restaurant right on the sea - you can feed the fishes. Had a fish platter which was alright (although the waiter did come over and help fillet my fish as I was making a mess of it) also had seafood salad which was delicious. and lamb cutlets which were also nice.
10. Tips
Couvert - Every restaurant brings you fish pate and bread before the meal this costs between â¬1 & â¬2. Every restaurant has a different recipie and some are quiet nice. Some places do cream cheese instead.
Cats - As a fish place there is cats everywhere. If you don't like cats don't go. There is a few restaurants that are upstairs and have no cats.
Food under the bell- A local delicacy. They put lamb, chicken, veal and potatoes in a dish that is covered in charcoals and is cooked for 3 hours. Delicious a bit like Irish stew but nicer
Coffee - If you like your coffee they mostly do espressos so make sure you ask for a large coffee.
