1. Myrtle Beach

Excellent family destination. A good alternative to family holidays in Florida. As English visitors we were made to feel special and very welcome. The locals are very friendly.
2. Huntington Beach State Park
Huntington Beach State Park, Murrells Inlet
Well worth a visit. Good shopping on site to provide everything you need for the beach. Very reasonable prices.
3. Charleston
Charleston
View the old south. You will be made to feel very welcome. Try a horsedrawn carriage ride.
4. Planet Hollywood
Planet Hollywood, Myrtle Beach
Fast service and a good place to eat
5. Brookgreen Gardens
Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet
Admission is good for 7 days. Includes sculpture park. Creek excursion provides explanation of rice plantations in the area and the impact of the Civil War on slavery.
6. IMAX Discovery Theatre
IMAX Discovery Theatre, Myrtle Beach
You really should try an IMAX film theatre, it is most impressive.
7. Broadway at the Beach

Well worth a visit. We kept returning for the themed restaurants and specific attractions. Easy to find and a good location for those with small children. Try the "Build a Bear" shop with your children. Be prepared for a big bill at the end of the process. It is probably worth joining the discount card scheme.
8. Barefoot Landing
Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach
Visit here for a range of different shops and food outlets. Different from most other parts of Myrtle Beach.
9. Wilmington
Wilmington
If you visit Myrtle Beach, try to visit Wilmington in North Carolina. Well preserved and caters for tourists. Worth a trip.
