In summer, 2005 I visited Armenia and did a good experiences there, which I would like to share with others, who are planning a tour to Armenia in the near future, to the first christian country of the earth!

  • 1. Dili Villa

    Dili Villa is located in the picturesque corner of Dilijan city in Armenia. Armenians call this forested region their Little Switzerland. Dili Villa is a three-storey house with a winter garden, charming loggia with a fireplace, studio and a nice balcony with a breathtaking view of mountains. It offers full amenities for a week-end stay to a month or more. There is big picture gallery on the ground floor: The host of Dili Villa is an artist and the same time a professor in the art academy. Creative atmosphere and a party mood are guaranteed in Dili Villa. Dili Villa offers also tours in the region (Haghartsin, Goshavank, Haghpat, Sanahin, Sevan...) and all over Armenia.

    Haghartsin is the is the most popular monatery in the Tavush region, it is located several kilometers east of Dilijan and consists of three churches and an old refectory. The oldest of the churches, St. Gregory, was built in the tenth century. The other churches, St. Stepanos and St. Astvatsatsin, as well as the refectory, date back to the thirteenth century. The refectory of Haghartsin is also very unique in character. There is a number of very interesting khachkars in the complex.

    Parz-Lich (Clear Lake) is one of the beautiful lakes of Armenia. It is situated in the heart of the dense forest at the altitude of 1400m above sea level. An admirable breathtaking harmony of the lake doesn't let visitors go.

    Sevan is surrounded with mountain and situated 2,000 meters above sea level. On a clear and sunny day, the water color is a deep turquoise. The water is sweet and about 18-22 Celsius in the summer. The monastery peninsula (called the island in Armenian) is the most popular holiday place.
