Good Shopping Cities

  • 1. New York City
    New York City, New York

From world-renowned department stores to trendy Soho boutiques and hip Brooklyn discoveries, this city is a shopping mecca. Christmas is a special time to visit to check out the elaborate and beautiful window displays. Just be sure to bring lots of money!

  • 2. Los Angeles
    Los Angeles, California

Laid-back beach style reigns in this stylish city where skin is always in. Denim, tank tops, and comfortable shoes (e.g. Uggs) have cult status here for day. For night, wear something short and sexy to go clubbing. Browse trendy boutiques in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Los Angeles or the city's ubiquitous malls to find these staples.

  • 3. Tokyo
    Tokyo, Tokyo Prefecture

This fashion-forward city loves labels and trends. Find the hippest sneakers here and draw inspiration from the city's many trendy teens.

  • 4. London
    London, England

Similar to NYC, you can find many department stores (e.g. Harrod's) and neighborhood boutiques in London.

  • 5. Santorini
    Santorini, Cyclades

You can find interesting accessories and summer attire in the many stores and stalls in the Greek Islands, and at bargain prices, too. Santorini is one of the more "upscale" shopping islands since it caters to many tourists and cruise ships.

  • 6. Bangkok
    Bangkok, Thailand

Haggling with the stall vendors in this city's ubiquitous night markets is a memorable experience. You can find anything and everything you want in the night markets but prices are not so good.

  • 7. Madrid
    Madrid

The country that brought us Zara and Mango knows how to manufacture runway knockoffs quickly and at affordable prices.

  • 8. Milan
    Milan, Lombardy

There are people who claim that Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and other favorite Italian brands can be purchased more cheaply here, but I'm not sure.

  • 9. Paris
    Paris, Ile-de-France

High-fashion (French) brands cost as much in Paris as they would in America but small stores do carry interesting, well-fitting clothes (with unknown brand labels) at low prices.
