Traveling with hands on learning

  • Category: Walking tour
  • 1. Lynden Pioneer Museum

Lifesize pioneer farmstead of the 1800's, Buggy exhibit, and performance of Past Alive! a show my niece and I saw. Past Alive! was a recreation of historic figures for the audience to interact with. My niece loved this part and thought it was funny. The actor got her involved in his skit. She had a blast.

  • 2. American Museum of Radio and Electricity

My brother came along with my niece and I to tour the radio museum. He likes music and had just about the same look as his daughter did while pushing buttons and pulling levers of radios from the very beginning of broadcast to 1927.
Lilly, my niece, learned that electricity was once formed by a science. She saw first hand that inventors made it possible to have light, power, and radio

  • 3. Bellingham Railway Museum

The museum features a number of interactive model railroad displays where visitors are encouraged to operate the trains. Lilly, my niece, ran over to the displays and immediatly wanted to operate the trains. I ran to her side and away we went . While operating the train on display I was imagining how it would have been like back then, although I was also distracted by my nieces giggles. We had fun learning and playing together.
